Bought that Hilfiger.....

coats are usually lined so that you can easily slide your arms in/out, unlikely that you'd have 100% wool directly against your skin. i usually use silk charmeuse to line my outerwear. hate polyester lining, it doesn't absorb moisture, feels plasticky and is generally a poor quality fabric (sold at $2-$3/meter - how do you feel purchasing that coat at $100 now?). if i'm gonna pay more for a coat than it costs me to make a coat, then i expect that the fabric is of better quality as well. if you have to go synthetic, then bemberg rayon lining is still worlds better than polyester.

It's 50% wool. It's made of Melton? It's pretty smooth.....

when you use a blend (natural + synthetic), you are getting an inferior fabric. the reason why it is so common to find poly blends now is because people now want "fast fashion", i.e. clothes they can buy cheap and then toss when they are no longer in trend. polyester lowers the cost for designers significantly. personally i have no issue with rayon, it feels good against the skin and is a decent garment fabric for a semi-synthetic fiber. but polyester is the worst...you are pretty much wearing plastic.

You, and that farmer Brown buddy of yours really need to get with the times, and go get some nice clothes man. At least I know what's her face greatly appreciates it when I dress sharp for occasions.

Even the raincoats on my boat are 200 bucks each. But for good reason.....

I just got rid of a couple.....

"melton" is just a type of fabric finishing (it has a brushed soft texture). the quality varies based on the composition of the fibers in it. wool-nylon blend is better than wool-polyester. you want at least 75-80% wool content in a good quality melton. couture quality fabric has 90% wool and upwards.
