The Honda crosstour

Is Honda's awd cross over sedan

Starting price 37k and it is ugly.

I'd rather a Volvo.

I'm just prejudiced against it. In my mind it is a car for single women 50+. :goofy:

Lmao, ok, that will get you off the hook. But don't knock it till you try it.....

CR-v stands for crossover- vehicle

Starting price 37k and it is ugly.

I'd rather a Volvo.

It's very ugly, but it's a very functional awd sedan

I would only buy an AWD car for fun off road (like the WRX) for me, it's otherwise useless. A fwd will get me where I need to go and has yet not to. I had them in Canada and if they can do it up there, then they can do it down here where there is less cold and less snow. I've had a FWD car get through snow just fine as long as they have decently good tires.

For my mom, who has 2 CRVs and a Toyota Venza, it's fantastic because she lives in a place where it can snow in July and August, and has space to bring home groceries or whatever else she may need. The Venza is a really nice little crossover. The cabin has nice features and materials, it's comfortable even on long drives, and if I needed a crossover, I would look in that direction since I really dislike the way the new CRV looks (despite being a very good little crossover.) But for what she needs a crossover for, I have the Jeep for that. It's why we have a 4 door Jeep instead of a 2 door (kiddo and space) but they're not the best daily drivers, even stock, which mine, quite obviously, is not. I have no issues putting the Jeep into 4wd, a simple pull of the lever does it which it can do at a standstill. I can't inadvertently put it into 4L either because you do have to be moving for that and you go through neutral to do it (I'd notice in other words.) Plus as a Rubicon it already has electronic lockers, front and back, and sway bar control. (I love that I never have to get out to disconnect the sway bar when we go 4x4ing...)

I want a daily driver that's fun. If it snows too much, we have the Jeep, but a fwd would work more than fine. I want something that can do 1-4 hour trips on regular twisty mountain roads that is fun to drive; a driver's car if you will. I don't care if it's awd, or fwd, or rwd, except that I know how to handle a fwd currently and am unsure with the rwd but could learn.

I don't want a truck unless I plan on towing something one day. I don't want a complete sports car that needs to sit inside and be babied. I don't want something that breaks the bank. I'll likely be stuck working at stupid retail stores for the rest of my fraggin' life so I might as well buy something that is affordable within this budget. Basically I'm pathetic, but I want a little fun to make it bearable.

As a Subaru I would only buy the BRZ or the WRX.

The BRZ is a Toyota beast with a boxter engine. It's well balanced and great car to learn how to drive on a track.

The WRX is a rally bred car, one that has done REALLY well in that area.

Both of which are fun to drive, fast, around corners (so I've heard.)

I wouldn't get any other Subaru even though they're super popular here.

Say goodbye to the front tire. Why not just take the darn thing off? That's what it's supposed to do.

The thing locks in place for marathon style running, so I'm not sure you'd need to take off.

I get the car thing, by the way. The WRX was one of my dream cars as a teenager. A dream squashed by my first car and then the shortly following Volvo Cross Country.

Now, I get to have boring mom cars instead and saving up to buy a proper SUV after the truck has met its maker.

I'd worry about it being stolen.
