Troph, I found a word that my kid has difficulties with. When the word "what" is used with the word "when". She draws a blank on the word "what". I thought I had it licked. But she did it again today. Very frustrating.....

Yeah, that is what some of the problem is/was, but it is getting better. She bumped up a reading level at school last week, so she is on track for end of Kindergarten, which is a D reading level. It was kind of interesting to see the spread distribution in her Kindergarten in terms of reading some are at the very very beginning and some are way far ahead. Most are in the B-D range, though.

Her teacher told me that the local library has their entire leveled guided reading system and that especially over the summer, it would be a big help. And especially because the summer vacation here is 3.5 months. 3.5 months! I'm not ready for summer break.

What? 3.5 months?

Did Dutch eat 24 burgers for dinner?

Yep. They don't have a Spring Break or anything and just push it all into the summer vacation.

2 burgers.

my mom, whom i flew 10,000 miles to look after, just told me that she's disappointed i'm not "the daughter of (her) dreams". now she's upset that it made me cry and she's crying, and her eye is getting puffy and if there's a complication with her eye recovery, it'll be my fault. i don't know how things suddenly escalated to this point. :\

she added, "even if you're not the girl of my dreams, you're the girl of someone else's dream, aren't you?" as if that makes it better...

It's a lot easier to guilt and make you feel like c rap when your face to face. Sorry things are not great right now, hopefully it's just her not feeling well.

Your mom should get a robot daughter that she could program to perfection.

I wonder if they took out the Hassids (for those not in the know, tend to be poor), how high up Jewish-Americans would be on that list. LOL.

Kind of outdated, but:

That is why Asian-Jewish is like the power couple, amiright?

Dutch wins......

Dutch is probably like twice the size. Man needs to lose more weight.

Kiddo and I always find it funny that kids are out for summer here (as in Colorado) by end of May but have to go back midway thru August.
