Nuh uh, and I haven't seen him in about 10 years.....

2- <sigh>

ya know......I believe in tolerance. Just finished up the book "Two Eggs, Please" with my daughter. It's about how we're all different, but we're the same. I can't support depriving our citizens and permanent residents of anything while supporting other people's kids. That's not why I pay my taxes. If whoever is for that, wants to privately donate their money to it, go nuts......I want to left out of it.

I wonder if those illegal kids are doing well in school or stay stuck in the poverty cycle since their illegal parents do not care about Education.

I read illegals can collect kids disability check for unable to speak "English"

The US govt is garnishing my worldwide income to fund these programs for the illegals.

I want my money back too.

I don't know if the migrant farm worker kids here are legal/illegal but they very much lag behind in school and pull down the school's scores on testing.

My daughter has a classmate who's folks are illegals (the one that I know of). I know they do lag, because I know both parents work, and probably can't read with her and stuff. (not that they don't care about their kids' education).

I was so proud of my daughter when her teacher told me that she helps this kid, and other kids that lag behind. The words used were "If we had a classroom full of (your daughter), we'd be doing great".

I also managed to translate for a couple of fooks, I understand that they do want their kids to learn. But I understand their difficulties. I mean, look at some of the homework that I've shown you guys.....

In the ideal world, the kid comes home from school, a knowledgeable parent does the homework with them. making sure that she's ready for the next day. providing a good meal and a good atmosphere for the child.

In the real world. Some of these kids and stuck in the afterschool programs, with little personal attention paid to them. Then they go home to a crampy crowded place.....no one is there to properly instruct them. Go over their homework. etc....

I see this with my own eyes.

This post getting too long......

Every Monday (or the first day of the school week) It's ice cream day. I stuff a dollar in an envelope for my kid. Soon I learned that her friend "Jennifer" (probably of Central American descent), don't have ice cream money every week. My daughter asked if she can buy her an ice cream. And so I started stuffing 2 dollars in the ice cream envelope every Monday.

Soon, my kid and this girl made a pact that they weren't going to have ice cream at all lol. Saves me 2 bucks (Tarklar ears are up)

Like I said, I don't like to brag about my kid. But you guys aren't here to see the stuff that she does. It's difficult for me not to spoil the craap outta her.....

1- poverty and doing well in school = 2 different things. No correlation as far as I'm concerned. (I was a poor kid).

1A- The parents, whether they give a craap or not, may be limited in their own capacities. (No speaka ingles)

2- I know a couple of people whose kids collect. But not for "not speaking the language". That's just retarded.

3- If I were you, I'd sell all my ######, renounce my American citizenship, give uncle Sam the finger, or the whole fist. And move back to Singlapore right now!

The way that they deal with this here is that all the Kindergarteners get free breakfast and then each kid volunteers to bring in snack for the whole class on a rotating basis (but only if they volunteer). This way, everyone gets breakfast and a snack.

God knows I don't want my kids to grow up to be an ultra Lib (cursed). But I want them to have compassion and understanding.

This school is a good start for her.

Your daughter is very well taught. Good for her.

At the same time, it is a dog eat dog world.

Sometimes being too nice is an disadvantage. She needs to learn how to protect herself too.

Unless, she wants to be jesus-like Someone slaps you, offer your other cheek too.

Back to the school.....

I find myself having to independently pace my daughter a little ahead, because the class moves slow. I've managed to help her reach all the goals that the school wanted to achieve by June. Yeah well, I gotta make sure that my kid don't lag.....

I also think that the school chancellor of NYC is a retard. (Carmen Farina idiot). Nothing but failed policies between her and the bozo in city hall.

That's nice. But NYC don't have that problem, you know that. There's so much resource here, the kids get 2 free meals and an after school program snack.

And in the case of my kid's school. the PTA raises so much money, that a lot of stuff is paid for (for the poorer kids). Like the book of the month. They don't have enough copies for the kids. So I buy them on my own.

I feed my kid breakfast before I send her to school. And she always has a snack for her and her friend in her lunch box lol. She makes sure of that herself. She's quite meticulous. Like she's going camping...

1- Thank you! I teach her with the best of me. (And leave the worst of me out of it)

2- I teach her about that with games like Uno, and "war" (with playing cards). And now, Backgammon (Acey Deucey). these games are also awesome for teaching math ! :) I make her add up the points with Uno lol. Acey Deuce also teaches great motor skills.

Frozen Uno. Highly recommend for little girls......
