we are going to look at houses on friday and saturday. i'm a little sad because there are no condos for sale in the same neighbourhood we're in now - and i looove living here. everything's walkable. the grocery stores operate 24 hours. but the only stuff that's on the market is standalone or town houses priced at 500-800K. we just don't have that...

so now i'm torn between staying relatively close to the area and having to pay about 30% more for a 1 bedroom (goodbye sewing studio) or looking further south and getting a 2 bedroom for a much cheaper price. i guess the area south of us is really growing quickly and there are little shopping districts that are popping up so it would be a wise investment...

but i'm still really gonna miss this area. :\

i am, in 10 days lol. hence the rush to look at houses this weekend. our lease is up in april, he wants to buy before then.

so we are still down to location vs number of bedrooms. i think location will be better when we want to rent it out but then not everyone wants to live in a cramped 1 bedroom. lots of people here get a larger unit and then just split the rent between roommates.

Ok, are you buying it to live in? Or buying it to rent out?

1BRs are very easy to rent out.

When I was there, they were just a crass, over bearing, boisterous bunch of savages that turned any place into a zoo.

There'd probably be more other tourists if they stopped going there.

In fact, I snapped a couple of pics for you guys to show you what fooks do to a place.....

I believe China can't control their huge population, the food quality..., provide enough jobs etc

So they allow their people to go outside of the country whether legally or illegally....

You think the fooks in your NYC will want to go back to China and live?

How about a town home?

I read that condo or apartment needs to pay high association fees.

I was just told that buying a house now need to pay 20% down payment in order to avoid paying mortgage insurance.
