The sheriff's deputy just freaked me out at my front door. Do they not teach police officers to identify themselves, especially in the dark with a coat when their badge isn't visible?

I am assuming that the credit card company only gave them our address? We don't have a house phone, so it isn't like they could look it up. We didn't report it to the police, so it isn't like we forgot to give them our number.

I'm not sure I'd be alive right now if he did.
