Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl to be charged with desertion

The 28-year-old was returned to the U.S. after being held for five years by the Taliban in Afghanistan. Bergdahl was swapped for five top Taliban commanders kept at Guantanamo Bay, a controversial exchange for someone labeled by fellow soldiers as a deserter. Charges could come this week.

Charges of desertion may come down within a week, according to NBC News, and specifically claim he left his remote outpost "to avoid hazardous duty or important service."

na. it's not. not with most psychological testing that's available. sure, it's on the Army's head to choose which tests to use, but I'm telling ya, O Ming, most psychological tests done at boot camp will fail to identify who has the possibility to be successfully brainwashed.

There's some other testing done for SOF and Seals for special unit training, but IIRC, these fella wasn't a member of such a unit, and never had that training. It's 'train first, test after' - then if they pass the testing, go forth into the unit.

But hey - it's a mess, this fella, regardless of what wasn't done, aye?

Your statement precludes the idea that there is any latitude of opinion on the topic in a country of over 300 million. Not a bet I'd want to take.

Besides the facts of a crime, if a crime took place, are generally assessed and determined at a trial. They are not predetermined on VJ, far right blog sites, Jamaican cafes, or by phone vote on Jerry springer.
