Interesting idea. more diamods, jewelry and chocolte if China makes it never the sames as USA, lol

ustajim' post='706330' date='Feb 5 2007, 11:11 AM']Is Valentines recognized in your SO's country? Are you getting them something special? Did you get them something then go to ship it and find out the cost of shipping was prohibitive?

Me first, Not sure if China observes Valentines, but i highly suspect not. I didn't go out of my way beyond a card and a nice sentiment, I am taking my Son and going to China for a month to be with Tao during all of April. A belated Valentines for her. Shipping was not an issue.

Jim

My fiance's brother has lived in China for the last 7 years, he told me they celebrate V-day in China in August last year or the year before, they go by the lunar calendar so it keeps changing. You can always show your love on both days!

Well, Craig and are celebrating Chrismanniveratine's Day.

We didn't get to see each other over the Holidays, and Valentine's Day is our anniversary. So we just decided to hold onto all our Christmas presents for when he gets here. He flies in on the 12th, and I think we are going to wake up on the 13th and have Chrismanniversatine's Morning! And open all our presents. :D

sorry, i type with one hand as I had a stroke last friday. Sometimes I make mistakes. Darn I hit the wrong button. Guess I could give up and quit like many stroke victims? I think I am doing quite well! ThankYou!

My fiancee's home country is Canada (and we're apart right now), so Valentine's Day is recognized and celebrated. However, she doesn't really care much about getting anything specifically FOR Valentine's Day. She'd like it, of course, but what she prefers is when I get her stuff for no other reason than I want to and that I care, not because some holiday dictates it.

Anyway...what are we doing for Valentine's Day? Well, if we were together, I'd take her out to dinner (someplace romantic) and take her out to a show or something similar. Unfortunately, that's not a possibility yet. So, what am I doing? Well, I don't want to say. Sometimes (on rare occasions) my fiancee reads this board, and I don't want to ruin it. ;)

I'll be with Chris on Valentines..my guess is we are going for a meal out.

My birthday is a few days later so I am not bothered really.

But I did get somethings for him.

He is hiking the Pennine Way before he leaves England so I got him some special socks, special Bogg roll for out door use (haa ha), this blister maker goawayer stuff, some energy trail mix, ohh and some special dark chocolate that he loves...

(like my maker goawayer word?? gonna use that one again!)

My wife is in India, and this will be our first Valentines since our marriage. Not sure how "big" Valentines day is in India. I was always planning on sending her something anyway, and she brought up Valentines day in a conversation.. I told her, since it's not such a "big" deal in India, I'll send you a card and left it at that.. however, I found a website that will send 24 red roses, box of Ferrero Rocher chocolates, and a teddybear for $48... so it'll be a nice surprise for her since she's only expecting a card
