So.... OK I get it, it's going to take NVC at least 60 days to review our documents. But why do they send 2 emails, two days apart to tell me the same thing? :huh:

The 2nd email came and I got excited thinking there was some good news coming but then I got scared that we were receiving a checklist! Does anyone know why the double notification? Is there a hidden explanation behind this or are they simply erring on the side of caution? :unsure: Whatever the reason, I don't know if I can take these heart palpitations they're giving me! LOL Maybe I should think positive and just be happy they're communicating with me?? In the meantime, waiting is the name of this game....

I have received double notification as well and had the same feelings as you did when opened the files. BTW, I have the same scan day as you do and emails were dated 01/24 and 01/26. Sorry, I have no explanation why NVC did that to us.

03/26/15 - package delivered according to USPS website

04/01/15 - email notifying the AOS package has been received

04/02/15 - an AOS fee withdrawn from a bank account

04/09/15 - received hard copies of all three NOAs (NOAs dated 04/01/15)

04/28/15 - Biometrics

05/08/15 - online status changed to "Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview"

05/18/15 - online status changed to I-765 approved-wait the card in the mail (no change for I-131) (80 days)

05/19/15 - received EAD/AP in the mail

05/28/15 - online status changed to "As of June 28, case is ready to be scheduled for an interview." This is the second time of such change since 05/08/15.

07/05/15 - online status changed to "As of July 5, case is ready to be scheduled for an interview." How many times are they going to update that status, I wonder?

12/18/15 - still waiting!!! For almost 9 months now (261 days from AOS NOA, 234 days from Biometrics).

01/14/16 - submitted "out-of-normal processing time" inquiry and called USCIS that stated the case is still at NBC and "inquiry" should answer why there is such delay.

01/15/16 - 294 days since the AOS was received by the USCIS; 262 days from the biometrics.

01/28/16 - [day 309] received response to case status inquiry (processed on 01/23/15) - "your case is waiting to be scheduled for interview," so wait another 90 days [sigh].

02/21/16 - [day 332] interview scheduled for 03/24/16 [363 days from the receipt of petition].

02/24/16 - [day 363] AOS interview. Approval on the spot.

I'll be curious to see if we stay neck and neck with our cases - hopefully without any checklists! I'm dreading if that happens - would mean another 60 day wait UGH! Did you send both your AOS and IV packets together? I was just thinking - perhaps each letter was for each packet?? I don't know, maybe I'm reaching there. There's probably no use in my trying to make any sense of this frustrating process LOL I was also trying to guesstimate when an interview might be scheduled providing there are no issues. I'm guessing May at this point.

I have sent both AOS and IV packets together, although I had only a cover letter from an NVC welcome letter and AOS cover letter, since I have sent the package before IV invoice was billed. My guess was the same: email per packet.

It will be very interesting to see how our cases will go. Just a note, however, my petition is for IR-5 (not IR-1) visa, although I do not think it will make any difference.

Yeah, I'm not sure of the differences, if any, in processing for our petitions. Good luck to you as well!! Here's hoping for no checklists and a smooth and approved interview!! :)

In the email they sent you regarding receiving your documents, it should state what date they received them. That would be the scan date.

Biometrics Appt letter received: 4/22/2017 - Biometrics date:  5/3/2017 - Done. Hubby said they were super friendly in the Pittsburgh field office!
