Bear with me, this does not make sense to me yet. Last week, my fiancé getting hesitant and was saying he was feeling bad about leaving all his family behind. We talked about it and I understood his hesitation, I would feel the same if I was leaving my family. My fiancé's interview was Friday, I did not go. He called me several hours after the interview after I had texted him to find out what the results. He said he told the person he did not want to marry me! I was stunned, he said he didn't want to leave his family and it was over. After being very upset Friday and Saturday, I understood and thought it made sense that he couldn't leave his family. On Sunday, I was resigned to the situation and emailed the embassy, briefly summarized what happened and asked what was the proper way for me to close the case.

Today, the embassy emailed me back and told me the visa had been approved and was in process. I had to write a letter telling the to suspend action on the case, which I have just finished doing. What????

This is completely crazy, I'm even more stunned than I was on Friday. We have been talking for months almost every day and usually at least an hour each day. I never picked up on this at all. I feel like a complete idiot.

This doesn't make any sense. My questions to you all are: What was the gain for him? Identity theft(he has had my I134 since the beginning of Jan, no need to go through this). Get the visa and travel here without me?(It seems much more logical for him to have me buy his ticket, travel here with me and then disappear one day). What am I missing? I don't know what else I should be looking for? Any suggestions are appreciated.

The man now has a visa to enter the US. Unless they flag the visa before he hit the US he can come and add to the numbers of people that are hiding in plain sight. It sounds like he may have a better catch he wishes to chase but he will not be able to adjust status via marriage to anyone else.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Columbia so quite possible.

He might well have had trouble getting a tourist visa to visit the US. If he got an approved K1 and lied to you that he told the embassy he didn't want to proceed then he was probably hoping you wouldn't find out and cancel the visa. Now he has a way to get in to the US if the visa isn't cancelled. Sorry this has happened to you :(

well, although the visa was approved,

it hasn't been sent on in a visa packet yet. There's no passport in his hands with a visa foil inside it. Not yet.

you have a slice of time, now, maybe 48 hours from when you posted,

to actually get things rolling at the IV Unit back in Columbia.

Here's what I suggest:

1. call into NVC, punch option 3 - tell the human you want to cancel the I-129F petition immediately, ask them how to do it on their side. With a cancelled I-129F, the K-1 visa is invalidated. [NVC is a unit of the Department of State, the IV Unit is a branch of the Department of State also].

2. somehow, get a Vice-Consul at the IV Unit in Columbia, let him know you are cancelling the I-129F immediately due to no further interest to pursue the marriage. I would suggest to do it via FaX - but you must act quickly/swiftly - you might need to call around in the Embassy/Consulate to get the right human or humans there. Email is one thing, IMO a fax has more weight to it.

Again, you have maybe 48 hours right now to do something to have a result.

What will be the result? K-1 visa cancelled, Visa Foil either not attached into the passport or the words [cancelled] are imprinted into it, and that passport won't be able to be used to travel into the USA on a K-1 visa trip.

Go Get Em, and Good Luck !

The Embassy Staffer wrote you this:

So, hustle with writing a new letter back, now, nowish. Give them what they are asking for - but be certain to go through 1 and 2 from my list.

Something is not adding up here...

Assuming he wanted to use you to enter US

he would not have told you that he didn't want to marry you.

He would simply arrive in US, and one day disappear.

He has to be really stupid and cocky to tell you that

he no longer wants to come to US ahead of going to the interview

and before entering US.

In any case, since he has all of your sensitive information...

you might want to put a lock on your credit (by calling any one of the credit bureau)

so that no one can look up or open credit cards using your identity.

Crooks are usually more deceptive than this...

I know you are in awfully confused situation and I can totally sympathize,

but somethings are not adding up logically here...

How long have you known him?

How many times did you see him in person?

Did you get to meet his family and friends?

Have you tried to contact him and/or his family and friends?

If he truly committed fraud, I wonder if you can also report him to local authorities,

in addition to notifying US immigration officials.

Please keep us posted...this is really intriguing.

And best of luck.

I have seen a couple of similar cases where there has been a break up but the person still got the K1 and used it. From memory the one most similar to this was Morocco and then there was a guy from Ghana? I think who had bought his ticket etc and was still going to come.

So by no means the first.

i guess he doesnt know that he needs you to aos, he thinks he can go to usa and aos with other person.

Fax and e-mail the embasdy asap, call his consulate and explain the situation.

If they havent sent the visa yet, you have a chance to cancel it.

I suppose somebody should be devil's advocate and offer the possibility that things are exactly as they appear on the service. He may have fact acted in good faith and gotten cold feet when getting close to go-time. I have no idea, of course.

Good luck!

plz try and call the embassy and sort it out plz. am sorry this happen to you, please take heart and do look after yourself.

This is the greatest lesson a child can learn. It is the greatest lesson anyone can learn. It has been the greatest lesson I have learned: if you persevere, stick w/it, work @ it, you have a real opportunity to achieve something. Sure, there will be storms along the way. And you might not reach your goal right away. But if you do your best and keep a true compass, you'll get there. Edward M. Kennedy,

In many countries lots of silly rumors are banded about

regarding visas and the US. I don't think he & his family

have a fulllunderstanding of tings and of course seem there

may be another woman in the picture....so ole boy there thinks

he'll just call & lie about the visa to get into the US.

Its all about coming thru the airport, some believe their friends

or families here can sort things out on arrival, not knowing the

process they come, is encouraged in the shadows, told laws change

all the time, they get savvy, they spend years then find an atty that

can offer a loop-hole, one just never knows.

I think you should call every agency to make sure he don't get thru the

air-port USCIS, NVC CBP ICE Homeland security, I would even furnish

them his pictures, its ppl like those that mess up real relationship petitions

good luck someone deserving of you will come along
