Every country is different. I know everyone trying to give advise based on general knowledge of visajourney but this is a unique country where they deny visa for no reason at all. Because I witnessed many interviews and many denials here, I know. It actually not US Embassy's fault. Because of many fraud cases in the past, they kind of forced to do this and the result became lot of genuine cases getting denied in the process. When they see a little chance of red flag, they just simply deny the case. They have no time to go through verifying. Here are some red flags: age difference, speaks different language, different religion, different race, one or both married before etc. So if there are not too many physical visits, specially only one visit before getting married, they will deny you here. At this stage, you can only wait for USCIS to send you letter which could take anywhere from 9 months to 2 years. You will have only 30 days to appeal their decision so very careful and keep starting to gather more evidence and visit your wife more. I hope best wishes for you. Hang in there you will be successful. I know because I know people like you became successful. Personally my K-1 got denied in September of 2011. They did not believe our relationship I guess but you never know why they denied you. I was travelling all over south Asia with my wife(then fiance). How this was possible if our relationship is not real? Then our IR-1 case was approved in Sept 2013 after countless visits to her(no more page left in my passport because of visa stamps) also her passport full of visa stamps to many countries with me same time as my wife!!

Just wondering did you follow local Cambodian policy on getting married? It is very complex, time consuming and expensive to get permission from ministry of foreign affairs for foreigners to marry Cambodian citizens. It's one of a kind country that has this kind of law. However US Embassy strictly follow local law. If you did not go through the process, you will be denied for visa no matter what. You could have children but it does not matter if you did not follow local law to get married.
