Asking POE to confirm SAVE information

Hey everyone,

I'm taking some time to familiarise myself with what happens once I enter the US, in particular the good ol' SSN process. I think I have a good grasp on the process and what to look out for thanks to a lot of helpful information here, but I was wondering has anyone had experience with asking an immigration officer to confirm the spelling of their name that they enter on the SAVE database? I'm no doubt going to be transferring in Philadelphia, where the airport staff aren't known for being overly friendly. It seems that the biggest problem people come across is their name being misspelled and that throws a wrench in the works, so it makes sense to ask the IO to read back the spelling of your name, but I'll be honest and say I'm a bit worried about getting sh!tty treatment by asking them about the SAVE entry of my name. So, any experiences would be appreciated!

It is not manually entered off a paper I-94 card you fill out on the plane anymore. The I-94 went paperless. Nobody types your name for that. It comes from scanning your passport. A few snafus have occurred when the scanned passport jumbled it like MARY CHRISTINAJOHNSON or MARYCHRISTINA JOHNSON where the middle name got run together with the first or last. Not even sure the POE person can view or control that because it is an automated process. It may look like first middle last on your passport, but scans wrong.

Ahh, I see, I realised the I-94 was electronic but got a bit confused reading the information in the "how to" thread. You'd think there'd be some sort of manual override to edit the information while you're there at POE! I wonder if my passport will play nice when scanned for the I-94. Thanks anyway!

Ask the guy who processes your visa. No fees to ask all the questions you want to. Before my husband's POE, I had read so many stories of lost medical files. I told him to ask CBP if he could get a photocopy of the medical forms that they have in the envelope in case USCIS lost them. CBP guy said "no". But he tried.
