Hi all,

received my NOA1 confirmation on 12/16/15. Just called the USCIS customer service line today and was told that the California service center was running about 5 months in terms of processing K1 I-129f. Was curious if other K1 petitioners were seeing 5 month processing times as well for I-129f submitted in December 2014 destined for the California service center.

Not that I'm impatient but the fiancée is pregnant (Dekichatta kekkon 出来ちゃった結婚) and due in June. I need to figure out what to do if I can't get her to the US by the time the baby is born. Appreciate anyone sharing their experience on this subject.

Thanks!

I have a NOA1 from CSC of August 4, going on 6 months and I get no answer. My Senator has contacted them and all they were told is they can't give an exact date your petition will be processed. It's a guessing game.

Mine took 82 days from my NOA1 date to get it approved and received our NOA2. A total of 171 days from my NOA1 date to interview day. Actually make that 134 days since my fiancee was still in US on visit visa when embassy finished processing our K1 petition.

So did you contact both senators and your congressman? What about the uscis ombudsman? Service request?

Oops sorry mods. I just accidentally reported my own post. Not sure if it went through. I meant to press the edit button.

I contacted my Senator in Washington. They assigned someone from Wisconsin to look into it for me. Two weeks ago they contacted USCIS on my behalf. They were able to open a service request. About a week later I got an email from USCIS in response to the service request. All the email says it that they are sorry but they can't give me an exact date of when my petition will be processed. And now I can't do another service request until 30 days has passed between requests. I don't know what the ombudsman is, if you have a number to contact this person I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

Try this:

Someone in one of the TSC threads just did an inquiry with the ombudsman and got noa2 just a couple days later. Who knows if it's related at all or just coincidence, but it can't hurt. Worth a shot.

It does seem like your file was lost in the shuffle somewhere. Anyway since you're passed 5 months, start pressing hard.

The omsbudsman route helped me out. Not with a NOA2, but for getting my file from CSC to the NVC (long story). Definitely worth a shot. Be sure to attach your service request reply. The omsbudsman has previously complained about USCIS giving vague, uselsss answers to service requests, so I recommend emphasizing that.

Their automatic reply will say to give them 45 days (I think) to reply, but they responded in less than a week for me.

Good luck!

After posting this thread and reading all the responses I decided to be patient and wait it out...only to receive my NOA2 approval today via email. They say a watched pot never boils and this certainly underscores it. Thanks all who replied.
