I was introduced to my Fianncee through her Aunt whom I work with in the states. Reading what happened to you tway22 makes me understand why we received the green slip. They didn't care about the relationship we have now. They ignored the evidence. The consulate requested I supply I sworn statement of how we met and when/where I proposed. I sent them a timeline of how we met through her aunt and that her aunt and I traveled back to Vietnam to meet my her. That must have been the clincher for them in my case.

Yup, that's it. That was the first thing they ask my fiancee at the interview and once she said yes....it was already decided that she get the blue slip and then the green. They will probably do their investigations and hopefully we get our VISA.

This is my update since I've been back from Vietnam. I think the best way to contact the Consulate is by email and not phone. I seem to get a better answer than the "we are still reviewing your case." See their response to my email below. It takes about a week for a response. First-come, first reviewed is scary. How many are still waiting?

A consular officer reviewed your fiancée's case on February 23 but it required further review by other consular officers. Ms. ****’s file is now pending such review. Case files and any additional documents or information submitted after the interviews are prepared for review based on a first-come, first-reviewed policy. We will contact your fiancée as soon as the review is complete.

That is scary...you think it would be determined by the extent of ease. You don't know how lucky you were to get the pink on the first try until you see something like this, how frustrating.
