London k1 after interview processing times

Had my interview in London on 8th January. Basically was told I was approved but had to wait to begin processing because I had to take my passport with me to fly back to belfast. They received my passport and status changed from immigrant to non immigrant and case updated January 15th. Still waiting in AP. Has anyone any experience with how long the London embassy is taking to process k1 visas?

Ask in the UK forum for London experiences. Somebody is always starting a thread on that same subject. I've seen people report changing from AP In two hours to maybe 2-3 days. Those needing further security clearance could be in the longer AP that lasts weeks to months.

I didn't know you had the option to delay the processing if you need your passport. That's good to know.

Yes, you tell them you need the passport for a trip. Then you send it back to them by the courier so they can issue the visa.

Pheebs1201 I wouldn't recommend this if it can be avoided as it seems to be delaying my processing. It's been almost three weeks now since interview and two since they have had my passport and still no sign of an issue date

Im sorry to hear you are going through this I hope I can avoid it but I have to be in the US on March 1st for my fiances sisters wedding!

Pheebs1201 that is pretty unavoidable! Have u got your interview date? Might be better to just wait til u are home from the wedding to get your interview as it could be quicker. They won't begin to process your case until they have your passport back anyway. For whatever reason, even though the embassy received my passport on the monday, they didn't start processing til the Thursday. So basically a week delay, when if your interview goes smoothly and they have your passport you could have it back within a week if that makes sense?

Thanks for the tip! No date yet! Kind of hoping for a miracle at this point! I'd really prefer not to travel out there another two times!
