Finally last documents sent

Howdy all,

A long road of paperwork, documents, certificates, mailings, and waiting is close to being over. I can actually see the light at the end of the tunnel.

One bit of news to report. The Embassy in Cambodia is back open again for processing IV's and my wife does not need to travel to Thailand any longer. This is sweet. It will make things a little easier on her and her family.

I sent in the DS-230 part I and part II as requested plus police certs, copies of her passport, divorce papers, birth certificates, marriage certificates, and all the translated papers associated with those documents. They wanted all originals except for the passport copy. So I am thinking they will send these documents to the Cambodian Embassy to schedule an appointment with the return of the Medical and other records my wife will need to complete prior to the interview.

Once again, a long road of paperwork and patients without the need of a Lawyer has been completed. By using this site, VisaJourney.com, and all the guides within plus the information in these forums, I was able to sleep well at night. Thanks to you all.

Now to wait until word of any further information needed or the "packet 4" arrives.

Do you guys included DS230 Part II on the packet that you sent to NVC?

We sent both, part 2 will be signed in front of the consular officer during the interview. I guess if you also sent the Aiffidavit of Support then just need to wait for the medical and interview schedule...GOOD LUCK..

In the letter NVC sent me, it had several documents that was required to be returned to them. Both Part I and Part II of the DS-230 and the supporting documents. However, only the Part I required a signature. I was told to leave the Part II signature blank and that was to be a sworn statement in from of the interviewer. As for the I-184, I had sent that in already in a previous request from the NVC. Maybe they will bundle all that together and send that to the US Embassy themselves. Possibly as a sorce of official mail kind of stuff.

I suppose some Embassy's do not require completing the Part II. In this case it was requested.

That is correct, it is done at the embassy, and with sme Asian Countries ..required.

Cambodia is a beautiful country, and the embassy is actually nice, unless it has changed since I was there in 2001. But be aware, and register with the state dept b4 you go, if your smart.

go to the stae dept web site and do this, it is the smart thing in case of issues., and worth it.
