Hi VJ members,

Finally after 2 months I got a job offer and I could tell that finding a decent job in USA is not easy at all as what many people think especially to those immigrant who migrated here for non work related reason. (I am K1 visa holder and received my EAD on Nov 2014.)

I was affiliated in a financial industry way back in the Philippines for almost 2 years and I am aware that I might end up shifting a career since I know the competition is so tight here especially I am not in medical field - like most of Pinoy immigrant here.

Fortunately I got a job offer with the same industry that I had before.

To all job hunters out there, PREPARATION IS THE KEY!

Practice or mock a job interview question and answer with your partner.

Write a script of your best answer if you could and memorize it by heart.

and never get intimidated with big companies. They are much more nicer (great HR hiring ethics) than small to mid size companies.

Best of luck everyone!

Fully agree that interview prep is key. Preparing for phone interviews in the US is important because a lot of recruiters use them as an initial screen and its harder to make an impression when you are not there in person.
