Hello all,

My fiancee has her interview appointment February 3rd and I will be traveling to go with her.

I received my employment letter from my employer and it says the I make $**.** per hour as a full time employee. My question here is if that is enough or does the letter have to say what my Annual income is??

Also, The interview appointment letter says I need to bring in two copies of form DS-160 but I alrady filled this form out electronically and submitted it. I got a confirmation email with an attachment that has her picture and a bar code... Is this what they are needing? or do I need to find a way to get back in the DS160 form and print it out?

Thank is advance

I am not sure, but since the USCIS/embassy goes by the poverty guidelines, which are listed in annual, NOT hourly, salary, it makes sense if your letter states the annual income. If not, then embassy must convert hourly to annual, which they can do I am sure, but adds more work and annoyance to them. Also, they have no idea how many hours per week or year you work. Full time assumes 40 hours per week Im guessing. However, by giving them your annual salary in the letter upfront you are making it very clear and simple for them to ensure you are making enough to qualify you and avoid unnecessarily annoying the officer adjudicating your case before, during, and after the interview. Also, you are eliminating an RFE/221g as well, as hypothetically the embassy can send you an RFE/221g asking for annual letter stating salary, which adds more time to the process. My thinking is, be proactive and give them what they need the first time around upfront. If you have decent employer they should be OK writing new letter quickly, which you then can email fiancee prior to February 3, so problem solved.

Yes, the email confirmation with the picture and bar code is what they need. No need to try to find it again online. Print email attachment confirmation and bring two copies. To be safe, print it in color, not black and white, just in case...

Ideally, The employment verification letter should contain...

1. Letter is printed on a company letterhead

2. HR's (or someone equivalent) signature & their contact information

3. Your name

4. Your position/role

5. Full/part time

6. Date of hiring

7. And a sense of your standing with the company...

(In mine, it said "so and so is in good standing with the company"

[iI] Yes, its that summary page with picture and barcode.
