The overuse of H'bibi and H'bti

I have to roll my eyes whenever dumb Americans say or write "my habibi". The "i" at the end of the word already denotes possession. Tacking on "my" is just irritatingly redundant.

:lol: hahaha but you know...speaking of redundance, even in arabic you hear for example, 'habibi ana' or 'rohy ana' so ... my habibi mine

also, when habibi is translated into english, I usually see it as sweetheart or beloved, which is why non-native arabic speakers would add the my in front, my sweetheart, my beloved.. haha ok im overthinking the whole thing

10/02/06- RFE email

10/07/06- RFE received (birth certificate)

10/11/06- CSC received RFE

10/24/06- APPROVED!

10/28/06- NOA2 in mail

11/08/06- Left NVC

11/09/06- Petition arrived at Cairo Embassy

11/23/06 - Packet 3 received!!!

12/05/06- Sent in Packet 3

12/14/06- Went to Egypt

1/17/07- Came back :(

1/18/07- Packet 4!

2/1/07- Interview ! ! !

07/17/07- Finally in Hand

07/22/07 - Arrived in Dallas :)

i was thinking the same... at least they're trying! :rolleyes: why is that americans are "dumb americans" but does anyone say "oh dumb moroccan!" or, "stupid egyptian!" when they attempt to speak english and totally mess it up? uhhhhhhh....

I liked that....I wanted to ask you if I can use it in my website... do you mind? Noor and I just laughed and laughed... we use ya habeebi a lot lot lot in my house... hehehehehe.... he said also sometimes they use habeeb albi too = my love, my heart...i think i'll call him that from now on...
