Was my B2 denied or withdrawn?

Hi guys I was arrested for petit crime when I was 17 but charged when I was 18 so I was an adult. (no jail time served)

As a child I grew up going to America every year with my parents as they own a property out there and planned to go the same year as my conviction (2007). I went to the embassy to get my B2 visa and left the embassy without it.

It was a very traumatic time for me and I have blocked most of it from my memory. As a result I cannot remember whether I was denied a VISA or given the opportunity to voluntarily withdraw. Is there any way I can find out?

I can definitely remember being told that it was too soon after my conviction and that I should try again in a couple of years if that's any indication?

I have since reformed my life and become a successful Grammy winning producer with Rihanna's song "What Now" and am desperate to spend the some time with my parents making up the memories.

I would be so grateful if anyone could shed a little light on my situation.

If you applied for a B-2 and left without one then it was just plain denied. It won't effect your application if you apply for a second B-2, though. If you're saying you're successful, have this "changed life" story to tell the CO and have stuff to prove you'll be returning to your home country then I can imagine your chances are better than last time. People receive approved tourist visas after having a previous denial all the time - my husband was one of them - you only have to prove to them that your situation has changed dramatically.

What does it say on the denial letter? You should've got one explaining what kind denial you have.

Hey thank you for the reply. I was so hurt (and naive) at the thought that I'd never be able to go to America again that I think I discarded it along with all the papers pertaining to my court case when I decided to move of with my life. So stupid I know

I believe, there is no voluntary withdrawn - someone can corrected if I am wrong- for B-2 visa whether it was denied or approved. You can try re-apply again. But you have to write all information needed such as have you ever applied any kind of visas, when, and the reason of denial.
