Timeline

Joel bought his own ticket. As for the second question, wasn't sure how to answer it so I just said "yes" because technically it DID go as planned....he came home to me. :)

Despite sane and popular opinion, I had my ticket booked before I completed my interview........for me to fly to the US four days later.

Did it work out? Yes.

Would I recommend for others to do it? Nope, especially now that Montreal has new procedures where the visa is no longer issued same-day.

Joel booked his before the interview too. Kinda scared us at first because the visa was delivered the day BEFORE he was scheduled to fly out. Those few days beforehand effectively took care of the one last nerve I had left. ;)
