I used to have an electric blanket for years. Couldn't have lived with out it so I thought. Well once I had my first baby I stopped using it 'cause I was petrified that on the nights where she was super cranky and ended up in our bed, if her diaper leaked that we'd all be french fried! That was almost 11 years ago and I haven't used one since. I do have a super puffy down comforter though that keeps me nice and toasty. I really don't think electric blankets are good for you. The more I used one the colder I seemed to be all the time for some reason.

Another poster suggested this to me in a pm and said I could pass it along. For his wife, he got a NYT crossword calendar. It helps strengthen her already good vocabulary. I think it's a good idea, and a word a day calendar is another suggestion.

oooooo word-a-day calendars...i never woulda thought of that...good suggestion

How about having a space set up in the house that is just for him? where he can be alone for whatever reasons.. he can put his pictures there, or pray, or read, or whatever reason. I know they need to just be alone with their own things sometimes.

Maj was very suspicious at first, but once he tried it he loved it! Now we don't need it because we have free heat and can turn it up to a level that doesn't make us freeze to death.
