my husband is a little fussy about tea. but, I cant figure out why he dont like tea bag tea. I dont know how to make tea any other way but, drop the tea bag in some hot water.

It's easy shon. Its pretty much the same thing. You can either put the loose tea in water or in a tea ball. Loose tea just tastes better to me, I don't know why. The more importing would be the kind of tea, but I'm pretty sure they use black tea in pakistan for the most part.

I was the same for the tea  but per (his) instructions make the water hot in something else, take the little teapot, add couple spoons of the loose tea, add the very hot water, let it sit for few minutes, then your hold the teapot up high and pour, then pour that back into the pot and pour again. From what ive watched the higher you hold it up the better it becomes. (this is little jokeing but mostly true ha) and he prides himself with the tea, so im sure that will become his job. For the coffee, he actually liked the McDonalds coffee.

where do I get loose tea? and a real tea baller...

I do drink imported tea " PG tips" which is stronger than " old lipton".

YOu can find loose tea usually int he grocery store - look next time. You might not have noticed sinc eyou always use bags. A really good tea for any pakistani is Djarling....yummy. The tea ball can be found at any home supply area like at target. You can buy one that has a little chain to hang ont he sig of the mug or pot or one with a handle.

The way we make our tea at home is we have 2 tea pots and one sits on top of the other. You boil water in the large pot that is on the bottom and in the small pot on top there is loose tea and water to cover the tea. Once the water boils, you add some of the water to the small pot with the loose tea.

To serve it, you add some of the tea (to your taste, some people like it heavier than others) and then fill the rest of the glass with water. I generally do 1 part tea, 3 parts water. People add sugar to their taste and you can also serve mint sprints on the side. That would be too hard for taking to the airport, but I'm guessing after that trip, he would be happy just to have some nice hot caffine, LOL

Shon are there any indian or international stores in your area? They will have it for sure. If you cant find a tea ball, then you can just use a sieve when pouring the tea. I would stock up on this stuff before he comes.

One thing some of you girls may want to do, which is something I am planning as well when the day finally comes . I know that after all that traveling the very first thing he is going to want is a cup of arabic coffee. I plan on bringing some with me in a thermos. If you don't have arabic coffee or can't get it, I'm sure he would also appreciate hot tea.

are you talking about the nasty nasty coffee or the turkish coffee?? Have I ever told my story about the nasty nasty coffee??? omg..I'll have to tell it one of these days.....ugggggggggg

They are pretty much the same thing depending on how you like your coffee. The turkish coffee, which we don't refer to as turkish lol, is just finely groud coffee mixed in boiled water and sugar if you like. In Jordan, most people add cardomen to it. Gahweh sada, is the same pretty much but no sugar is added and it has more cardomen which makes it have a bitter taste. The major difference is how it is served. Gahweh sada is generally only for occasions, holidays, weddings, deaths, etc and it is served in small portions.

I'm guess you don't like it...lol

the Gahweh sada is the nasty nasty nasty coffee I was speaking of. Turkish coffee (to me) is the good stuff with sugar, kind of like cappuccino. There is a reason they serve the Gahweh sada in small portions....its coz nobody can handle any more than that!! Noor just laughs and laughs when I talk about the nasty nasty coffee.. his whole family even refers to it as "the nasty nasty coffee" ever since the day I went there and was served it for the first time....Yeah, I got to Jordan...slept a bit and then it was time to meet the family.. we go there and they offer me about a teaspoonful of this stuff in a teeny tiny cup that had a similar look as tea. Noor said drink this..you show respect by drinking it... So, I drink it. It was horrible! I handed the tiny cup back to them, being very proud of fulfilling my duty of respecting them (also growing hair on my chest from that horrid liquid)..and they GIVE ME ANOTHER CUP FULL!!! I drink it with a half smile on my face and give the cup back to them...they are all so happy and smiling about this. I think the torture is over with and I can move on with my life when..BAM, YES, ANOTHER CUP OF NASTY NASTY LIQUID :help: ... I said, through a clinched grin, Noor....I dont like it..I don't want anymore...he just laughed and after I drank it he said..now, shake the cup...this tells them you're done and they won't give you any more. I just looked at him and shook my head (and the cup)... EVERY HOUSE WE WENT TO...we had to drink the nasty nasty coffee.. thank god he told me early on to shake the cup..I got really good at it afte the first day......ugggg

I know I learned to make tea in karachi and still to this day love it. I take half milk and half water (i prefer skim milk) and bring to a boil. Add the tea and let it steep. Add sugar to each cup as desired by the drinker. It's better than adding milk or cream to the tea like you would add to coffee.

So funny, amal! You would like coffee in Morocco. They have a thing for Nescafe and milk. It's very mild and, as a non-coffee drinker, I appreciate that!

They actually sell special tea pots for this, if you are at an arabic store you will find them there. They come together and they are usually between $20-30 for the set. You may want to pick up some tea cups there too since he is probebly used having it in the smaller glasses. Most teas in the arabic store are not in arabic, mostly english. The kind we use at home is made by Sadaf, but the one with cardomon. He might not like that one, but they also sell it without the cardomon.

Yes my fiance likes iced tea, he would drink liquid caffine if he could.
