I can't tell you how many times I've met clients who said they were vegetarian but ate fish, and chicken. huh??

They really need to look in the dictionary to find the definition of a vegetarian.

As far as chicken not being meat... I just looked up the definition of "meat" and half said chicken is meat, half said it isn't. Whatever. ;) Come on dictionaries of the world, lets get this straight! ha

There are different types of vegetarian.. there is Lacto-ovo vegetarian, pisco-ovo-lacto vegetarian, and vegan. I think some of it depends on why you are a vegetarian. If you have an objection to eating muscular tissue, then you tend to either be lacto-ovo or vegan, and if you are just into occasional meatr eating you may choose pisco-lacto-ovo. But you don't really include chicken in this, although pisco will sometimes go chicken. I don't eat meat when I am left alone, but I will build up my tolerance before i go to Jordan by a few weeks going pisco and then occasional chicken. I just dislike raw meat in addition to the whole non-working gall bladder... so... I have a non-typical reason for it. I don't give a flying leap what my Dh eats :) I'm not all into protecting my pans from meat or anything! I just do better health wise without it since it really does a number on my digestive tract.

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.

i am well aware of the differences in vegetarians. its hard to explain the kinds of people iw ork for. airhead billionaires who hear from some lady who lunches about being a vegetarian,. or going raw, or...whatever. they know nothing about it. "oh umm yeah so we're vegetarian now." anyway.....................

thats good you don't mind your husband eats meat when you do not. that would be really hard on a relationship i would think. not wanting it in your house when he loves it. luckily my fiance and i are both fish/salad eaters.

That can be really confusing. I know some people who say they are vegetarian but they eat chicken, fish, seafood. I don't really consider that to be a vegetarian but differnt strokes for different folks I guess.

Chickens are made of "fowl" instead of meat.

LOL! I can just imagine. "Today? We;re going raw! Make somehting else! It would try my last nerve I think? I'd be all "no, you're confusing today with tomorrow. Or perhaps you're confusing this meal with the one you're about to fix for yourself." Ahhh. this is part of the reason I wrinkled my forehead when my Dh said he wanted a restaurant. I';m about customer-serviced out!

It would be crazy on the relationship I think? He really loves chicken. but, then again, he is refusing to eat chicken here because all we have is chicken-fed-chicken from the local tyson plants, including all 6 by my house. So I think we'll be having a decent ammount of fish and also ground beef from the mosque and chicken franks! Ohhh he will be sooo excited that he can have all the ground beef he wants since it makes me get hives LOL!

Haha exactly. Tonight in fact, my boss asked me to make a particular chicken dish. When I served it he asked me to totally changed it around (but it was exactly what he had asked for) Sometimes I swear I want to throw my apron off and tell them to finish the meal themselves then! (with a few swear words in there for good measure) and storm out! I almost did that on my last job. I want a restaurant as well...someday soon I hope! I think I could deal with the crazy customers here and there if I were doing my own cuisine. We'lll see. ;)

I could deal if I was the one in the kitchen.. but my Dh wants to open one with Arabian cuisine (there is only one in the whole northern part of this state and it's open from 11.30am-2pm, Mon-Fri?! INsane!) and he is the cook. he's actually an excellent cook. But that leaves me to be the server basically. The server who hates people... LOL. He insists he just wants the two of us to work there which I think is kinda nuts? but I have never worked in the food industry before. Just knowing customer serive I would think one of the smallest place needs at least 3 people working for a short period of hours, and really at least 6 for 2 shifts. There was a restaurant here that just had 2 people working it and they just closed-- I don't think they could ever keep people happy. They were incredibly slow.

Right and you are the poster child for making VJ more comfortable for people. The only person that imposes double standards is you, which has been pointed out again and again. By the way you slam people quite often.

jp, your continual "outrage" is making you look rather guilty of this yourself.

I bought some electric liquid poupouri pots and use a rose poupouri in them. It makes the whole house smell wonderful!

Another thing. Talk of showers made me think of warming a towel for him to use when he gets out. It's especially appreciated on cold winter days.

Mine just lovvvvvvvves warm towels aaaaaaand since our washer and dryer are in the bathroom...when I warm up the towels, it also warms up the room ... it is a win/win situation!!

Again getting off the subject here again, but if (anyone) tells you, you are not living your life right, are you or anyone going to start that minute to change to what they say. NO each live to their standards and customs to what they believe best for them.

Now back, has anyone had the experience yet of explaining how to mow the yard or do the outside stuff?

hahahahhahaha when my husband first got here, I told him we would have to cut the grass when the summer came. He said..oh but there is so much of it.... I had to explain the whole lawn mower thing to him... we got a riding lawn mower from my father just before the winter hit...he absolutely loves it!.. hehe you should see him sitting all proud on the rider!

Maybe thats an idea, one of those remote holders so both will always know where its at

I swear to pete...if we lose the remotes one more time.......................... it's not going to be pretty...........

One thing some of you girls may want to do, which is something I am planning as well when the day finally comes . I know that after all that traveling the very first thing he is going to want is a cup of arabic coffee. I plan on bringing some with me in a thermos. If you don't have arabic coffee or can't get it, I'm sure he would also appreciate hot tea.

They are pretty much the same thing depending on how you like your coffee. The turkish coffee, which we don't refer to as turkish lol, is just finely groud coffee mixed in boiled water and sugar if you like. In Jordan, most people add cardomen to it. Gahweh sada, is the same pretty much but no sugar is added and it has more cardomen which makes it have a bitter taste. The major difference is how it is served. Gahweh sada is generally only for occasions, holidays, weddings, deaths, etc and it is served in small portions.

I'm guess you don't like it...lol
