I rec'd a letter from the doctor who performed Gavin's medical in Dublin.

The letter states that he had the medical, had the chest x-ray and that all of his vaccinations were completed. It also says he tested negative for Syphillis & HIV-Will this be enough to get the I-693 filled out here?

any thoughts?

Well, the instructions of the I485 state to include the vaccination supplement I693A. It is up to you to try and send everything off as it is and risk a possible RFE for the missing VS or get it now anyway and include it to the application. There are cases where just letters have worked but there are also plenty of cases where the USCIS sent out RFEs for missing VS. Good luck .

The problem is I can't get his vaccination supplement & the doctor did not gove him a copy of the DS-3025, so all we have is this letter.

I found a gov't approved doc that will fill out the I-693, I was just wondering if they can do this with just the letter???

Do you have his shot record? I didn't have anything from the doc either and went to the doctor here with only my German shot record. He filled everyhting out and I paid 50 bucks for it but didn't have to fear a RFE. Good luck.

we can't get his shot record, apparently they do not keep things in order the way we do here. His family doc wrote a letter for the visa medical, stating that he had all of his childhood immunizations, and the doc said that was good enough for him.

I called the doc who will be filling out the I-693, and she said the letter should be fine, but he may need to get a tetanus shot(although he had one last year). If worse comes to worse, I will take him to my doc and get what he needs(I believe it is called a titre test), to prove that he has had all of his shots.

I just hope this works out!!! What a pain in the as$

thanks for your responses

I seem to recall on the I-693A you need to have dates of vaccinations. That was certainly the case on ours and the one column where the doctor wrongly transcribed the date in the wrong place, we got an RFE for so I'm not sure how the Civil Surgeon can complete the I-693 without dates of completion rather than just a generic statement that they have been completed.

that is our dilema.

we were told we had to contact the Irish Medical Board to get his vaccination history & that it could take 6 months to get the records, we do not have that kind of time. I guess we will just have to get a titre test-we will just have to supply all the documents-we can't give vaccination dates if we don't have them.

the titre test will show that he has had all the required shots & that will just have to be good enough.

I do believe though that not all vaccinations can be tested through taking blood titres. Hepatitis can, Measles can, but things like Tetanus, Diphtheria, Polio and some of the others which are required may not be. Also, even though someone has had a vaccination, it does not necessarily give them full immunity - there are cases whereby people have a very weak immunity or no immunity at all following vaccination and they have to be re-vaccinated, so titres may not always show what we want them to. Not saying this to try and scare you but having worked in Doctors offices most of my life I've seen this many times. You may find this is a pretty costly exercise here too!

Stupid question, but could you not have requested this from the IMB previously so you could have got it by now?

I assumed that my man had a copy of the ds3025-If I had known believe me I would have tried to get it sooner.

I am going to take the letter from the doc to the gov't approved civil surgeon-if she can't fill out the paperwork, I will try to go for the titre test. If it doesn't show polio-or any others I will just expect an rfe & deal with it then.

I am still trying to figure out how the doc he saw "before" his interview, stated that he had met all the vaccination requirements without any sort of paperwork
