Attempting to file I-130 with London USCIS

Hello. I'm currently living with my husband in the UK but my permanent address is in the US. I entered the UK on a student visa on 27 July 2005. I received my limited leave to remain in September 2006. I have lived with my now husband during my entire stay in the UK and have ample proof.

I believe I am going to attempt to file the I-130 with the London USCIS. I believe they will either process it (DCF) for forward it to Nebraska (the service center for my US address), and then when I receive NOA1 I could attempt the K3 route to make it faster.

It would be great if the London office accepted my petition. My only concern is about how long my husband would have to enter the US for the first time on the CR-1 visa. We're planning to move no earlier than January 2008. If the DCF process is as quick as four or five months, that means it would be up to seven months between receving the visa and doing his POE. Would we have to make a special trip to do his first entry? Or do you think I'm concerned over nothing?

If I could have found this information elsewhere, please direct me there. I did make every attempt I could before posting.

visa is valid 6 months from date of issue - I checked this one..

you can delay it somewhat by delaying (asking for rescheduling) of the interview or the medical etc ... I reckon it can be re-issued too if you have reasons - not too sure - but i wouldnt risk that

way things are going i don't think its going to be a problema at all with your timetable...

I thought I would have lots of time with my 5th november 2007 timetable - hope is fading and I reckon we might just squeak it as we haven't got NOA1 yet and the DCF thing looks a right buggers muddle (can i say that ?)

Thanks! We were guessing about six months. You're right that it will probably work out with our timeline anyway but thanks for the suggestion of delaying the medical or interview. Hopefully everything goes so smoothly and quick it really does come to that!
