USCIS Website says "Receipts # Error: The application receipt number entered is invalid.

Was so excited as today my husband received a text message saying: "USCIS: Your case was received. Receipt # LINXXXXXXXX. Official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) to follow in mail.

However, when I went to the USCIS website and input the receipt number,,, I got a message saying the receipt number is invalid. Has anyone experienced this? Do you think it's just too early to be checking this number yet if we just received the message today?

Indeed its very early to check at website. Our noa1 showed online after 45 days of receiving post.

FYI: LIN is Nebraska. Be prepared for the long haul. They're a slower service center.

oh booo. I wonder why it's from Nebraska. How does that work and why would USCIS send it there? We sent our I-130 in to Phoenix, AZ. Does USCIS decide which Centre to send it to?

We are also at Nebraska. I am patently waiting to get this process so that i can be with my wife.

Its long and stressful process ... So don't give up on ur patience ... Keep an eye on forum here folks share their issue with journey which will be very helpful .

Thanks for the encouraging words Rdahal. Yes, if anything I can learn from this is patience. I, too, have found this extremely stressful, and, "we've only just begun", oy!!
