Pot does not = death sentence

I have to say that the officer had a good look at the dropped object, which was turned in his direction after being picked up, and while the purp was shot dead he was clearly a danger to the officer and not given a "death sentence" for possession of pot, pop, Skittles or something other than being a fleeing felon at the point of being shot.

I think the video is pretty clear that the shooting was pretty much the result of several major violations of the law. And the deceased caused them all to occur.

I am confused. I see no parallels to the Skittles case but I added it for giggles here. Do you really not see how the deceased in this case brought the outcome to fruition? Even the video appears to show him picking up and aiming the gun at the officer before chickening out and running.
