Hello everybody

I would like to say thank you to all of you in this forum :) . I have learned a lot from this forum and I think I should contribute something for our community. Below is my journey of processing I751 form from starting to approved.

About my background:

I come to the US in F-1 Studen Visa for studying in Graduate school. I met my wife (USC), married her in 2010.And I got my CGC in March/2012.

I751 Journey:

On Feb/15/2014, my mother in law hired an attorney to help us fill in the I751 form. We submitted these documents below:

- Our driver license with the same address

- our bank statement with both our name on it. We do have a joint checking and saving account since we married.

- 2 year of joint tax return

- an affidavit from our attorney

After sending our form, on July/28/2014, I received a yellow RFE letter which says that our evident is not enough to prove that our marriage is in good faith. The reasons they write in the letter are:

- There is an incorrect point in our joint tax return.

- The bank statement doesn't show that our account is being actively used. (we actively use this account. It is my main bank account. My wife has her own bank account in another bank. I dont know why they say that in the RFE. I guess they dont see we deposit money in the saving account. Honestly, we didn't have much money at that time while i was going to Grad school to deposit in our bank).

- The affidavit is not details enough about our marriage.

So, i followed the suggestion in the RFE to collect more evident.

On Sep/25/2014, I send my package including the documents below with the RFE to Vermon office.

- Our ATT bill and payment of last month

- Our Toyota bill and payment of last month

- Our car insurance with both our name on it.

- An affidavit from my friend (notarized).

- A combined profit 2012 report from our bank.

- My life insurance, 401k, AD insurance, etc documents which listed my wife and my mother as beneficence.

- A cover letter which explains about these documents

After 2 months of sending the packet, I haven't received any news from Vermon office. On Dec/03/2014, I called the number in the RFE to ask about my case, the help desk helped me create a request ticket to let my case being proceed. About 5 days later, I received an email saying that "Our case has been randomly selected for an interview at a local office, they will send a mail which includes day and time of the interview". After knowing that news, I was continuing collecting more documents, papers. About 2 weeks later, we received a letter says that our interview will be conducted on Jan/22/2014 at our local office (Memphis).

Despite our marriage is real, I am still worry about the interview. So, i come to this forum and learn a lot from other cases. We have been trying the best to prepare for our interview (documents, questions, photos).

On Jan/22/2014, we came to Memphis office before our appointment in about 15-20 mins. I brought all of documents which i have been submitted so far. I thought they were going to ask us bunch of questions but it turned out very quick and easy.

The officer called both of us to follow her to her office. She was friendly and told us to do sworn before we started our conversation. She asked our ID and my CGC and then we started our conversion. She asked my name, my current address, my previous address, my phone number, dob. My wife was being asked the same thing. After that she ask me what documents i bring to our interview today. I slowly showed her all my documents including our photos. I arranged our photos by time frame and showed her these photos. She only ask us one more question which is "have you paid anyone but us?". I asked to make sure that i heard the question correctly. She asked me again "have you paid anyone but us or lawyer?". And then she told me that she would give me a paper. And Voila  , she gave me an approved letter and then she told me that I would receive my new card in 2-4 weeks.

Our interview only took about 15 minutes. The way I felt in the interview was they already approved me. They only asked me and my wife come to the interview for quality purpose as they said in their email. (randomly selected for quality control).

Thank you everybody and good luck to all of you on your journey. :dancing:
