Hi :) sorry for the long title.. just want to ask if its okay to remove the wrong DS 160 and replaced it with the new one? problem is, the nurse who released my medical already stapled it at the back of the envelope :(

I made a mistake of putting the MNL case number to the application receipt / petition number part.. and i realized just now after i got the result and compared my ds 160 to a friend.. i want to change it but im worried that they might accuse me of tampering the result :( i need stresstabs!

By the way, i have not schedule my interview yet...

TIA

No. Don't do anything until you give it to the U.S. Embassy staff. Tell them about that at the time. It won't matter. A case number just to identify your application.

Did you put the MNL number on the DS-160 instead of the USCIS receipt number? If so, then don't worry. You can use either number on the DS-160 and it will be fine.

Hi Zedayn :) thanks for your reply :) Yes I did :( im not a good proofreader :cry2:

Do i need to make another DS160 and bring the old one to embassy or just leave it like that? I'm really worried that they will reject my ds 160 on the spot :(

Your DS-160 will not be rejected. As I stated earlier, either case or receipt number is acceptable. They just need either number to connect your visa application to the rest of your file.

You can leave it like it is and you will be fine. Or, if it makes you feel better, you can fill out an entirely new DS-160. Just bring in the confirmation page of the DS-160 to your interview.

Hi Girl from Celebes :) thanks for your reply :) I actually keep the envelope away from me because my OCDness is arising :D

I'm really hoping that they are not strict with the numbers :(

because im so panicky, i immediately prepared a new DS 160 but i just saved it..

No, they don't. I made mistake on my DS-160 as well and I did not have any problem. They only would concerned if you are lied on your application. To give you a peace of mind, tell a staff at the embassy about that before the interview. You should be just fine. Good luck!

Complete a new DS-160, print out a NEW confirmation page when done and bring that to the interview ... not an issue to do a new DS-160. (toss the old confirmation page, have a great day)
