Administrative Processing but the Consul said the visa is approved during my interview

What did the consul say during the interview?

My fiancée asked the interview CO if we were approved. The CO said everything looked good and that they just needed the sealed medical report from SLEC. We have since confirmed with the USEM and SLEC that the envelope was delivered the day of our interview as the panel physicians gave her a clean bill of health the day before at her re-medical.

After DOT was complete, then we paid another 11,025 for a blood test and physical exam, which is the re-medical. This re-medical is required after completing DOT because something physically could change or the blood could change during the time of DOT. Immunizations were waivered until fiancée gets to USA.

At some point the interview that was done on the 14th with the medical report delivered to the USEM on the 14th should match up so we can proceed with getting the visa. Case status is Refused.

Her interview was January 12. Then still Ready status until January 20. On January 20 it changed to Administrative Process status. On January 23 it changed to Issued status. That is where we are now, still awaiting delivery. AP is standard procedure so no worries about that at all. Its the "black hole" between Ready and Issued statuses.

We are almost on the same track of date. I was stuck to AP for 2 weeks after my interview then Ready for 3 days (January 13-19) then back to AP last Monday till now. Last update was January 20. Kinda worrying what's going on with my case. I'm glad you got issued right away.

No problem with her blood. I have trust in my embassy that they will finish my fiancee's visa soon.

I am curious about the waiver for vaccinations. Why did they give you a waiver as you paid for the vaccinations in your original SLEC payment? I would think you would avoid the cost of doing the vaccinations in the USA as it will now require you to have your 3025 form interrupted by a panel Dr. for your GC. That process can run a few hundred dollars. Unless I am missing something.

For fiancée visa if the fiancée admits to benga since last menstruation then there is another delay at SLEC for pregnancy test or the fiancée can opt out of the vaccinations with a waiver.

Soooo .... I'll be doing some research to see if our health insurance will pick up the tab for the vaccinations in the USA after the wedding.

I had my Medical a wk before my interview. I had to go back 2wks after the last contact for MMR. Then they said TDAP is not available, if I want I can call Jan.26, 2015 to ask if it is available. I'm just annoyed because even if you only lack immunization, you will go thru the long waiting time again for you to be released. Well maybe I'll go back since we really paid for it. Flu vaccine as they said is not given among my age group. They said vaccines are not required at POE but recommended. But be smart guys, get the vaccines here. Its also costly in US and you paid for it already.

Here is what I am saying about vaccinations and the DS-3025. If you have all your vaccinations completed and noted at SLEC then upon entering the USA and when you are applying for your Green Card you only have to submit the DS-3025 with the I-485 which must be filed within one year of your medical exam. This is the process to acquire your GC.

Even if a new medical examination is not required, you must still show proof that you complied with the vaccination requirements (which in your case you will have completed the vac in the USA). If the vaccination record (DS 3025) was not properly completed and included as part of the original overseas medical examination report (yours will not contain a completed vac report as you will be finishing your vac in USA), you will have to have the vaccination report completed by a designated civil surgeon here in the USA. In this case, you are required to submit the vaccination record and page 1 of Form I-693 along with form DS-3025. I have seen costs anywhere from $120 upwards of $275 to complete the CS exam.

It's cheaper to do it in the Phil at SLEC then come to the USA and have it incomplete and pay soooo many $$$$$$ more when you don't have to.

Thanks for that info. That's definitely helpful as we prepare for the GC. I found a civil surgeon office close to home that is on the USCIS list and vaccinations are covered by my health insurance for no additional cost.
