On Tuesday my lawyer sent in my AOS and IV packages. With the submission was a cover letter asking for an expedite based on stalking and other criminal acts against me, the US citizen, with supporting police reports. Yesterday (Wednesday) I received a checklist. It was only 24 hours after he sent and I had thought the lawyer was sending hard copies so seemed odd. Anyway, I have a couple of questions:

1) At what point should I start calling NVC to find out if my expedite request was denied or approved? I think my case for an expedite is weak but I'm trying to work through some PTSD issues because of this and need hubby here with me. Do they normally review these requests up front with scanning of AOS or does it happen later in process? Can anyone set my expectations here - not on whether it will be rejected or approved but rather when I will know.

2) If I got a checklist only 24 hours after the lawyer sent, does this mean the AOS was somehow already scanned and the 60 days has begun? Hubby and I have been debating this.

Thanks in advance!
