Thanks. The lady at the Congressman's office seemed sympathetic and helpful. She said the Consulate will respond to them, so she'll have an answer, but can't promise it'll be the one I want. I told her I understand, but just wish they'd talked to us first, before just straight canceling.

And if we must stay with the May dates, then I'm going up for a visit the week before, we decided. So that's the silver lining, I guess.

That is a flourish of activity, must feel fantastic. I am a doer too so sitting around waiting is hard to endure.

He is flying over on the 16th! We will have a little civil ceremony at the court house so we can get AOS going with actual wedding for family and friends on July 4th. We are so excited and relieved - it's very good to know that we don't have to say good-bye this time. I am so thankful for that in particular.

A little something funny - that I didn't know - the immigration officer gave Kevin some pamphlets at the end of his interview and said, "If she doesn't treat you well, starts to beat you or something, these pamphlets explain your rights." Kevin said the gentleman was very professional...until Kevin burst out laughing and then they shared a laugh. I too couldn't help but laugh when he told me the story.

Best of luck - so frustrating even if you receive an explanation.

That is to funny!!! If you start to beat him....

Can you find another filer from Kuwait who would be willing to pass you the link? If it's all electronic, they could do it via the Visa Journey messenger. No need to trade personal email addresses. Just a thought. I know I won't get my Packet 3 in the mail because we doubt TSC ever changed my address (I'm the beneficiary posting this), but the link is in a sticky on our UK regional forum. Do you have something similar on your regional forum? It would save you waiting for a reply when you could just get started.

Thank you so much. I have done that and a vj member sent me the instructions.

I am still waiting for the email reply from embassy for our instructions so we can have peace of mind knowing we followed what they asked us to do.

Do embassy employees get upset if you email them often and start ignoring your emails? I emailed and then my fiancee did but she sent it twice by mistake.

And now we are worried.

No, it is an obvious mistake. No need to worry about that. Besides, I intend to email my consulate daily requesting an early interview. Annoying them might persuade them to humor me :D

So what does it mean when the case status says "ready" on the NVC website??

Your case is at the Embassy if it says "Ready"

Good Luck

Are you serious? It literally just reached NVC on Monday and I checked it yesterday and it said "Ready". I never saw it say anything about "in transit."

Hi VJ members ,

i got my interview appointment with USEM at abu dhabi after 1 month of my approval (noa2) which was on March 3 , they sent me the appointment letter through my EMAIL address after i summit inquiry to USEM of abu dhabi because i know that mailing may take several weeks , then i made my police clearance from Egyptian consulate in Dubai and my police clearance of Dubai where i reside currently , after that i filled out form DS-160 online ( it took only 90 mins) and it is easy form , then i printed form 156k ( all instructions were told to me at my interview appointment letter) , i also printed interview letter and confirmation page (bar code ) , military certificate is required also ( in English ) , my birth certificate (in English ) and photo copy of every document i have , also i booked medical examination appointment May 2 coz my interview date is May 10 . THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT , IM VERY GRATEFUL THAT I MET YOU HERE , GOOD LUCK EVERY ONE .

LAST QUESTION , DO I NEED TO BRING MY FIANCE WITH ME TO MY INTERVIEW ?

There have been some reports of people seeing it saying "Ready" for a brief period just before it changes to "In Transit". It may be that you just happened to check within that window. If this is the case, it might stay like this until tomorrow, given that it is weekend.

Or, you could just be very lucky :D

Your Fiancé doesn't have to be there for your interview. Being together during the interview is totally up to you.

Does anybody knows what mailing company NVC use to mail packages to the consulate please.

They generally use DHL

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number

Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere, and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .
