You will be appointed one.

Speaking of this, if someone knows the answer to this... I just checked my status and our case is now en route to Stockholm and it also says that I have been appointed a visa interview date by NVC. Where will they send this info? To my fiance in the states or my address in Sweden? Prior to this message it said we would be getting instructions by NVC but we have not received any. Is this normal?

That text is just the standard they give you. Your interview date has not been appointed. Once the embassy has your case files, they will email both of you with instructions on how to proceed - including scheduling your interview date. :)

I have a question for you all. My fiance and I have been watching youtube videos about k1 visa interview questions and my fiance saw one that said we could be denied if we haven't known each other for 2 years. Is there any truth to this?

We've known each other since December 2014 and we've been together since March 2014. I've visited his country 4x in the last year and we took a trip to Istanbul together over winter break. I've got tons of chat logs and evidence to support that our relationship is real. Can anyone shed some light on this for us?

No. Requirement is to have met at least once, face to face, in the 2 years preceding filing.

We received packet 3 email today but there was a little glitch.... there was no attachment with instructions. So I emailed them back and requested the instructions.

Can you find another filer from Kuwait who would be willing to pass you the link? If it's all electronic, they could do it via the Visa Journey messenger. No need to trade personal email addresses. Just a thought. I know I won't get my Packet 3 in the mail because we doubt TSC ever changed my address (I'm the beneficiary posting this), but the link is in a sticky on our UK regional forum. Do you have something similar on your regional forum? It would save you waiting for a reply when you could just get started.

Good morning to you all.... I'm so excited I just check the NVC portal it says my case in transit... Can anyone tell me what is the next step and the turnaround.

Hurrrraayyyyy. Contact your embassy. Every embassy is different. Generally, at this point you may fill out DS 160 and start working on gathering other documents like birth certificate for beneficiary, divorce certificates (if any), police certificate for beneficiary, I 134 and related documents. Good luck!

I am so excited and happy that we have our interview on June 8th. It's two months away but we are just happy that we can move forward and plan as needed!!! Thanks to everyone who has been so support during these long 8 months.

Thank you so much!!! Our interview is June 8th! So we are very happy we get to see each other soon!

Having a date to set your sights on makes all the difference in the world! I've said that the process (regardless of how long) would be much easier if we were given a "you will hear something by date" instead of the you'll hear when you hear attitude.

Thank G-d that part is behind us... Happy days and good luck!

What William and I have been saying all along!

You must be getting so excited now. It's been such a fast moving week for us after all those months of nothing. Our case arrived at NVC on Tuesday, got our number on Wednesday, booked the medical yesterday for next weekend. All of a sudden there is a flurry of activity here. I'm not used to having something to do after biding so many months at TSC, but we are loving this!

When do you hope to fly out? (Sorry on my phone and can't see your signature, if it's in there).

Lee

Contacted my Congressman and a Senator to see if they'll call the Consulate and ask them to give us our original interview date back. They still haven't responded to us as to why it was canceled. He had already made his necessary travel arrangements to Montreal, so fingers crossed they let us keep it. :/

That is so true. If they could be more informative on what is happening with your case then it would make the wait a bit easier.

Yes I am so glad this part of the process is finally over. By the time our interview date it will have been 11 months since we originally filed. Years ago the process was 3 months from beginning till end. The good ole days!! lol

Rooting for you. So sorry to hear they did this. It's a long wait in between what they gave you initially and what has been offered. Pester your congressman endlessly to push for an answer and let us know what you get. (F)

That is a flourish of activity, must feel fantastic. I am a doer too so sitting around waiting is hard to endure.

He is flying over on the 16th! We will have a little civil ceremony at the court house so we can get AOS going with actual wedding for family and friends on July 4th. We are so excited and relieved - it's very good to know that we don't have to say good-bye this time. I am so thankful for that in particular.

A little something funny - that I didn't know - the immigration officer gave Kevin some pamphlets at the end of his interview and said, "If she doesn't treat you well, starts to beat you or something, these pamphlets explain your rights." Kevin said the gentleman was very professional...until Kevin burst out laughing and then they shared a laugh. I too couldn't help but laugh when he told me the story.

Contacted my Congressman and a Senator to see if they'll call the Consulate and ask them to give us our original interview date back. They still haven't responded to us as to why it was canceled. He had already made his necessary travel arrangements to Montreal, so fingers crossed they let us keep it. :/

Best of luck - so frustrating even if you receive an explanation.
