oh wow.i'm in shock. I haven't been on here in some time, and need to update my timeline. However, my fiancé had her interview this week. Everything went well and they said at the embassy congratulations, should take a day for the visa to be issued (they have the passport). I checked online and it's showing administrative processing.

Is that necessarily a bad thing?!?!? I so hope not.

Oh also she said they gave her a pink slip that just had her name on it and said the visa takes 3-5 days to issue

Administrative processing can be a worry but they've told you it was approved and kept the passport to add the visa to so you should be good. What is the process for returning the visa? What timeframe were you given to actually receive the visa? Your portal on VJ or the consulate's webpage may help you with some of these answers. Good luck.

Sounds like she will be receiving it any day. Me being me I would give it the 4-6 total days they suggested and then email/call them if it isn't received.

Appreciate the positive response. Trying to keep my spirits up. We've been counting down the days till we see each other again because we did get a ticket (I know, you aren't supposed too until the visa is issued but I took a gamble because it was a good deal…..although will have to change it if necessary). But that ticket is for travel in 10 days….and next week friday is Good Friday so I assume the embassy will be closed and the following monday is a public holiday.

I'm hoping we get some good news early next week!

The CO said it takes like a day, but they can't be sure because sometimes the system may go down etc and it's out of their control….but that she's putting it into the system now.

I called NVC today and they said it could take up to 35 days for them to receive our petition from TSC. Has anyone had to really wait that long?

Ours was sent the same day as yours, I think. I am going to call them late tonight (EST). I will let you know if we have any luck, or tell you what they say if I get through. What time did you call?

It can take anywhere from 10-14 days to get to NVC. Once they receive it you will have your case number in a day or two. I found the best time to call is around 7:00 am EST...or about 10:00 pm EST.

Good luck

Yes, I called between 11 pm and midnight. 56 attempts but could not get past the automated 'lines busy' message. It's OK. We know we are probably a bit early, but I don't regret trying and will see if Monday morning yields better results. All they can do is say they don't have it and then we will keep trying. After waiting, it just feels good to be able to do something, knowing that our wedding is in sight :)

Ours took two and half weeks to get to NVC from NOA2 and has now been sitting there for 2 weeks. I thought this was going to be the quick part and don't understand what takes so long at NVC if some can be out in a couple of days.

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number

Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere, and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .

We also thought it was usually quick. Is NVC still catching up on backlog from the bad weather and February closures?

A couple factors and a bit of luck influence how quickly a file leaves NVC for the consulate. If the beneficiary's consulate receives frequent K1 applications the files are batched and forwarded about every two weeks, otherwise they are sent individually as they become ready. Your wait will be impacted depending when in that two week cycle your case receives a number.

Also keep in mind, not all consulates receive files via DHL (2 day shipping) some are simply mailed (ours took a week to arrive).

As an example, our file took 6 weeks from NOA2 to arriving at the consulate - many others were quicker.

Hope this helps.

Trust me I know how you feel!! Mine was at NVC for 3 weeks. Now it is in Ghana and we still don't have an interview date. It will be 3 weeks there Thursday. They mailed out his packets almost 2 weeks ago. But most of the time you don't get them. So I have requested several times for an email-call letter so he can go pick up his packets with the interview date! I never thought this would take close to a year!!! by the time our interview comes we will be close to a year with this entire process. A little frustrated with all the waiting!!

I agree after waiting for TSC all that time you hope to pick up some speed at this point. I hope you dont have to wait any longer for your interview date (F)
