Mine too. They are so slow and the people answering the calls are not well informed. Am just waiting to hear from them. The Nvc said ready on March 4. The embassy is sitting on it.

:(

I know and it's just crazy!! I emailed the Embassy in Ghana, of course, they don't have it in their system yet!! I will email them again next week to try and get the call letter. It takes like a month to never getting it in the mail there. So I will continue to email them until I get my Fiancé call letter!! I hope you hear something soon!!!!

So, just to confirm, because I think some of the forms listed under the K1 guide/downloads may be obsolete after the electronic forms (?): After my case reaches the embassy, I fill out the DS-160, which is under non-immigrant. Then I also pay the fee, which is listed under immigrant visa? Referring to this website: https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/. Any other forms that I (beneficiary) have to fill out?

I'm a little confused since they seem to refer to the K1 as both non-immigrant and immigrant, depending on context...

It feels like prior to getting my NOA2 I knew everything that was needed to be done, knew everything that happen at NVC stage and now when I have received my NOA2 it's like I've forgotten all this info...

Do I get informed when NVC receives our case or is the message we got that USCIS sent it to NVC the last one we get? Do we just give it some time and then start calling them?

I know exactly what you mean! I just feel super confused now, haha, I thought I'd have everything sorted for this stage...

You don't get informed when NVC receives your case, you have to call them to get confirmation that they have it plus your case id. I got this information from them exactly 2 weeks after USCIS sent my case.

Ditto !... we all lived and breathed the steps, timings etc for so long.

I just tried calling each day till yesterday was finally told they have our case but they couldn't give me a case number. Called today and got the case number and can now monitor progress without having to call anyone. (so now I'm glued to the keyboard again instead of the phone and writing new lists  ).

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number

Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere, and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .

Once your case is out of NVC it is increasingly important to know what your country's portal on here says about things. You do complete the DS 160 but the paying of the visa fee varies by country. As an example, for Dublin Embassy, you pay the fee at the time of interview but other countries pay in advance. Check out Sweden's Portal on here and see what the Consulate details say. Good luck.

Madness - good luck with Ombudsman - probably your best bet at this point.

Just venting a little... :ranting:

Today is day 87 after NOA2 approval (December 18, 2014) and we are hoping to hear from USCIS/NVC soon, saying they have sent/received our case. This is a long and stressful wait for us. :clock: We had planned to marry in February, but instead we were left in a state of libo because USCIS said they sent our case to NVC on January 7, but NVC says they never received it.

We have contacted:

  • February 12, NVCResearch@state.gov (no response at all),
  • February 13, Senator Cornyn to submit a Congressional Inquiry (waiting for response from USCIS/NVC),
  • February 13, Congresswoman Johnson to submit a Congressional Inquiry (waiting for response from USCIS/NVC),
  • February 13, Senator Cruz to submit a Congressional Inquiry (waiting for response from USCIS/NVC),
  • March 5, USCIS Ombudsman (received email reply, wait up to 60 days for action/response),
  • March 6, SCOPSSCATA and TSC NCSCfollowup (received email reply, wait up to 60 days for action/response),
  • March 6, USCIS Tier 2 Service Request (received email reply, wait up to 90 days for action/response),

I have done everything I can at this point and now it's just a matter of waiting for someone to get our case found and moving again. The waiting is driving us crazy. Please say a prayer for us and send loving thoughts our way. Thanks so much. (L)(L)(L)

Done venting. I feel better. :dancing:
