I'm getting confused about this.. the advice we got on our status was that our file was sent to NVC on Mar 09. We still haven't received anything to say it has been received, so is this where I should allow 2 weeks? Most people dont seem to mention when it was sent only when NVC received their file and NVC just say they haven't received it and give me the 35 day line. Just checking.. thanks.

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number

Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere, and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .

Ours was received by the NVC exactly two weeks after USCIS sent it, so I would call them once it's been two weeks. I called them two days before that and got the same line about 35 days.

Now that my case is in transit to the embassy, is it a good idea to start filling out forms (I'm thinking about these http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1forms)ahead of time, or should I wait for the embassy to tell me which forms they need? And, can I start the DS-160 now, but without submitting it?

Yes, you can get started on the DS-160 now, and it's a good idea to do so because it's a pretty lengthy application. Because you are able to save your progress and return to the application, my fiancé was able to complete the DS-160 before our case even got to Frankfurt, and simply submitted it as soon as he got the Packet 3.

Ok, thank you.

The fact that it took TSC 12 days to send it to NVC after NOA2 was what threw me since it extended the delay so much but Its only another week now so not so bad.

Today is not a happy day... Yes, I have my NOA2 and it seems to be stuck at USCIS ... But if everything had gone as smooth as we were believed to when we sent in our papers, we would have gotten married today :(

Thanks. Frustrating because now we're looking at August wedding... Oh well. If we have waited this long I guess we can continue to wait...

Courage, you have been approved, now focus on acquiring all the paperwork you need, scheduling the medical and tell yourself everything will be fine.

I know it sucks knowing you would have gotten married today, i am so sorry for you guys :( *hugs*

Proof of ongoing Relationship, I photocopied the birthday cards and the card he gave me on our 1st anniversary. I joined all the little cards I got when he send flowers, the confirmation tickets for my trip (Well, copies because he actually sent the original ones with out I-129, durrr). Pictures and tickets to events we attented together (Montréal canadiens, Yankees game, Phantom of the opera...). I also copied/pasted some parts of our Skype log. The whole thing wold have been 40 pages or so haha. I highlighted the longest calls we had, one of them being 22 straight hours!!! I think pictures are secondary proof thought, right? Just venting a little... :ranting:

Today is day 87 after NOA2 approval (December 18, 2014) and we are hoping to hear from USCIS/NVC soon, saying they have sent/received our case. This is a long and stressful wait for us. :clock: We had planned to marry in February, but instead we were left in a state of libo because USCIS said they sent our case to NVC on January 7, but NVC says they never received it.

We have contacted:

  • February 12, NVCResearch@state.gov (no response at all),
  • February 13, Senator Cornyn to submit a Congressional Inquiry (waiting for response from USCIS/NVC),
  • February 13, Congresswoman Johnson to submit a Congressional Inquiry (waiting for response from USCIS/NVC),
  • February 13, Senator Cruz to submit a Congressional Inquiry (waiting for response from USCIS/NVC),
  • March 5, USCIS Ombudsman (received email reply, wait up to 60 days for action/response),
  • March 6, SCOPSSCATA and TSC NCSCfollowup (received email reply, wait up to 60 days for action/response),
  • March 6, USCIS Tier 2 Service Request (received email reply, wait up to 90 days for action/response),

I have done everything I can at this point and now it's just a matter of waiting for someone to get our case found and moving again. The waiting is driving us crazy. Please say a prayer for us and send loving thoughts our way. Thanks so much. (L)(L)(L)

Done venting. I feel better. :dancing:
