Thank you. :) Yes, I've told my fiance to try calling at those times - calling from Norway would be horribly expensive, unfortunately. :/ Was that 2 weeks from when they sent it from USCIS, or from NOA2?

Yes we were approved on Feb 3...NVC received case Feb 17th

Thank you guys!

Since I have been gone from the forum for so long, would you guys mind telling me what the current wait time is for our application to get to NVC? I heard a rumor about NVC being backed up, is this true?

First off: Congrats, I'm so happy you finally got your approval! :) Our application was sent to NVC a week after NOA2, if we're to believe USCIS status updates. We haven't heard anything yet, but that's on account of not being able to get through to the NVC when we try to call them... Tbh I'm rather hoping they've already sent it on and I'll hear from the embassy soon.

About two weeks for NVC to receive ours (8 days for USCIS to ship) - then another two weeks to send to consulate and then a week to arrive in Dublin via regular mail. BUT many other countries are shorter waits to leave NVC and then they get shipped via DHL, so our 6 weeks between NOA2 and "Ready" can be more like 4. Hope the next steps are shorter for you than they've been for us.

When I spoke to a tier 2 agent about whether or not our approval was sent to NVC he said they ship them in batches but it should be being shipped soon. I'm assuming they were waiting on the last July filers to be shipped together, so hopefully in about a weeks time.

I got an e-mail last night saying thatmy case was transferred to the department of state. What does that mean please.

Your case is supposed to leave USCIS and be shipped to the National Visa Center (NVC). You can start calling NVC (603-334-0700, option 2) in a couple of weeks to get your case number.

Is tax return enough for proof of income. ( it mentions tax return on I 130 if self employed)

I am trying to avoid the letter from employer.

This might be different depending on the embassy. The Caracas embassy specifically requests the letter.

"Affidavit of Support, with a job letter stating how long he/she has had his/her job and how much money he/she makes annually (W-2 forms and 1040)."
