Today the president of Venezuela told the US Embassy it has two weeks to reduce its staff to 17 diplomats... Right now they have around 100.

Is 17 even enough to keep the embassy open? I'm worried we're going to have to wait months for an interview date, or get transferred to another embassy (Bogotá?)

I have emailed the embassy but have not yet received a response.

The president of Venezuela also said US citizens will now need to get tourist visas, so being there for the interview might not be possible.

...and just as things finally seemed to be moving along

So... after a week of the case being updated to "Ready" we finally got our case instructions from the Embassy. It is taking time but i think we are moving in a right rythm!

My Case was approved on 13th Feb. 2015 and sent to NVC on the 24th Feb and till date NVC said they dont have the case yet.

I kept calling them daily but its still a no.

Please is anyone with same date as mine and hasnt gotten a case nos yet?

Just wanna know to be sure my issue isnt peculiar

Ours was sent to NVC on February 25, and we thought we'd call tomorrow. Maybe no point then...

My fiancée was able to talk to someone via the Skype ustraveldocs contact. They said there was an issue with the website not accepting K-1 appointments. They escalated the issue to the embassy and we're supposed to hear back in a day or two. The embassy has posted on their twitter account "Estamos trabajando de forma normal." - we are working normally. Keeping my fingers crossed...

hello everyone, I need your help. Me and my fiance are going through some problems to get his police certificates...

I am peruvian and american, my fiance is colombian. During our 8 years of ongoing relationship we lived together in my home country (Peru) for about 2 years and 11 months together. Now during this time, his status in Peru was asi f he was a tourist. As you know when you are more than 6 months in another country, any extra day you pay a fee for staying. Well my fiance did paid all the extra fees for staying overtime. Since he needs police certificates of every place he has lived more than 6 months we are suppose to get his police certificate of those 2 years and 11 months he was in Peru. But now that we want to do them, the consulate of peru in Colombia just told him he can not get a police certificate because he was a TOURIST.

Now, we dont know what to do, we know he is supposed to have police certificates of everywhere he has been over 6 months. Is this something that may cause a rejection during the interview?

Please help us, or re direct us to a thread where we can get help. Thanks to everyone!
