We called NVC together from Kuwait and received our case number. The super nice lady at NVC who gave us the case number also said that the case was going through AP but the CEAC status reads, AT NVC. What was she talking about? How can it be in AP

I almost feel like I've graduated one school year to go on to the next, coming to this thread from the pre-NOA2 one, lol. I breathe so much more easy now after knowing that our petition was approved, though I'm also hoping for a speedy process through NVC and the embassy in Sweden.

A quick update. NVC seemed to process everything quickly IMO. Although I never got any updates by email or text and had difficulty trying to reach them. I was on vacation as well, so wasn't even able to reach out to any one. Anyway, by the time I talked to the NVC 2 days ago they had already assigned a case and sent the file to the embassy. When I checked CEAC it was showing ready (as of 2/13). I called the embassy and they said they had a lot of unopened mail so didn't confirm they received my file.....but they said they will email me the packet 3. Which they did.

Currently I am in SA with my fiance, I booked a while ago thinking it would all be done. But right now it seems like it will likely be the end of march. I will be leaving 3 weeks earlier. I suppose that's ok. Hopefully all goes well with what we file now and the interview etc.

In the packet 3 they said they require a computer generated birth certificate. She has a hand written, so we need to apply for another one that is computer generated. So instead of filing everything now will wait to receive that, hopefully soon, and send all the docs

what they ask for is:-

DS160

I-134

DS 2001

Then copy of passport, pictures, police, Birth C, Evidence of financial support, Evidence of relationship, medical, and fee.

Does that seem right to you guys? Anything maybe missing from that list?

Thanks!

Sounds about right, hopefully someone from SA can answer more specifically.

But for us, I read - long ago - to have a copy of the I129f with the petitioner. We plan to have a set of papers grouped together that we know they want/asked for and another set of the "just in case" grouped together that don't get handed in unless asked for.

Good luck!

AP is when the file is processed to be shipped to beneficiaries US embassy. This can take a couple days to a couple weeks depending on a few things. There are reports on here of much longer times - but that is the exception not the rule.

Also, when do we complete DS 160?

Check your country's portal for this - it can depend on your embassy. We completed ours right after NVC issued a case number.

Welcome and best of luck. Feels lightening fast once you get past TSC!

From my understanding you can do your DS-160 once you get your case number.

My Fiancé will do his this weekend. He went to pick up his police report today. So everything is right on track. I have a few documents I need to finish up then we wait for his packets from embassy.
