I don't want to get my hopes up. I have decided that this weekend is probably going to be my last on here until I get my NOA2. I can't take this roller-coaster of emotions. I wished I could stay and support the rest of the July people but I'm going insane and I think I need a break from VJ.

I'm sorry for that, I know things can get really hard at this point. And I think you're totally right on giving a break here on VJ, I did the same couple of times before my NOA2 and was a good decision. I always keep looking July thread to see if you get your approval, I can't wait for that. Hang in there!

Hello everyone!

I have a question, I'm a bit confused about the USCIS website. We recieved our NOA2 on the 28th of Jan, my fiance received the hard copy a few days later. Now, when I enter our receipt number into the case status it says 'My case has been sent to the Department of State' ... what does that mean? it's been 3 weeks now and that hasn't changed. Does this mean NVC? are they the same thing? I'm so tired of waiting! I thought after NOA2 things were supposed to speed up :(

I wish all the people who worked for USCIS and the other places involved had to experience the excruciating process that is waiting to be able to start your life with your loved one! It's so tough :(

DOS=NVC! The Department of State runs NVC! your approved petition was sent to NVC to assign a case number before it is routed or forwarded to your local US consulate for further processing! If you have any questions feel free to call NVC and ask for any updates on your petition! Good luck to you.

Call NVC 603-334-0700 from 7:00 am - 12:00 am M-F. They get loads of calls so you will most likely have to call multiple times to get through. Once you get through wait for the prompt for #2 (Don't press #1 "if you've had a petition approved at USCIS in the last 35 days) wait for #2. Then you will hold - could be a long one. You will need your USCIS # and the approval date from your NOA2 hardcopy. If they start asking you for other info, confirming email addresses or other such info you know you're in their system. You will want the case # and the Invoice #. Good luck.

It's been 13 days since our NOA2 and we have heard nothing either. I spoke to a Tier 2 officer last week and he said sometimes it can take up to 15 days. We will have notification soon. Our case could be at NVC and we wouldn't even know it, so I am calling in the morning.
