Sorry if this has been asked a thousand times

My fiancé has her interview at the U.S. Embassy in Manila on Dec 10 2014 which she passed with flying colors. Them only thing they asked for was an updated NBI (Police Clearance). She was given a form and instructions on how to submit it. She sent the new NBI clearance and it was received on Dec 17 2014. On Dec 22 her status was changed to Ready and has been sitting there ever since. Her VISA was updated on Jan 9, 15 & 21 2015 but the status still says ready. She has not been contacted by phone or email since the day of the interview.

Now the US Embassy Immigrant Visa Processing UNIT was closed fort he most part from Dec 22 - Jan 5 2015 and Jan 15 - 19 2015 but I cant understand why this is taking so long.

And now on the 23rd of January the status is moved from Ready to administrative processing. God I am getting really stressed out over this whole thing, I don't know what to do. The Embassy has not contacted her or me for any more information.

I was interviewed Nov 19 and was put to AP due to NBI also, USEM received the NBI on Dec 17, just this January 7th status said READY case is open and changed from immigrant to NOn- Immigrant. Yesterday from Ready, it went to AP again. Some say that after 2nd AP is Issued status, well at least that gives us hope. I hope we get Issued Status soon.. praying for you...

If you had been on VJ for the past year to 18 months, you would have committed suicide by now (many waited 1, 2, and 3 months after interview for their decision), but in your current situation your visa process looks to us veterans like a walk in the park. I know, waiting is always tedious and not much fun.

If your status is changing then it means they are going through all the checks and balances that the USEM has to complete the processing of your visa. Each case is different and so different measures are being placed on those cases as required. This is more of a waiting game, but wait till you arrive in the USA.... the waiting does not end as you file for your GC and naturalization.

Just have some more patience, you'll have your approval as soon as they can complete it.

The embassy doesn't just glance at the forms then go "Have a nice day" and issue the visa, they do check thing and if they find something that perks their interests they check more (AP can be a day or months) . Just need to be patient longer.

Update your profile while you have time, it is very helpful to many here on VJ. Maybe complete your timeline as well... :time:

OK I filled in some blanks I accidentely left out of the VISA time line in error. In short she arrived for her interview on Dec 10 and waited just like every one else had to even though she was the first to arrive at 1 am Manila time. They called you in the order of there choice and not the order people showed up. Once she was inside she was only asked if she knew that I was married to a Filipina before which she did and if she knew how many children I had previously and there names. She was able to provide this information to them. Those were the only questions they asked her and she was done in about 15 minutes time. She was told then and there that she was approved and that the only hold up would be that her NBI Clearance was issued in late May 2014 and they would only accept the latest NBI Clearance and was given. paper work to submitt it to the Embassy via 2Go. Then they took her down to a lunch and after that she went out side to her family to celebrate. Two days later she got her updated NBI clearence and sent it to the Embassy via 2GO. On Dec 17 it was marked as recieved. On Dec 22 2014 her status was changed to ready. The US Embassy was closed for a whole lot of days over Christmas and New years and I know that those days do not count towards processing time.

I have no idea why things moved as fast as they did but perhaps as we have been together since July 2010 and I met every year since them and I had copies of emails, letters, plane tickets, hotel reservations and financial support documentation plus plenty of photographs of us togethger over the years. Add to that I am United States Navy Retired and an Federal Civillian Employee of the US Government. They were able to immediatly check on my back ground and verify my financial status up front in Texas buy simply calling the Agency I work for at the phone number I provided on the verification of employement letter I included in the inital filing. Perhaps this may have speeded things up on the USA side of things.

I was just shocked to see the status back to Administrative Processing. After I posted I did the research that I should have done before I posted and found out from several other people that when they are in the process of issuing the visa the status is changed to A P. Now I like several others will have to sweat things out threw the weekend as there is no status update before Monday.

She has a clean record with no children accompanying or any kind of civil convictions in the Philippines so she will either recieve the visa or she wont.

We have our flight to the USA on March 25 from NAIA #2 to Hawaii. I deleberatly waited over 3 months from the interview to schedule our tickets to allow for any surprises by the US Government.

And to top it off after I had completly calmed down and was going to bed I get an email from Philippine Airlines saying our flight on March 25th was changed to March 26th. This screws up spending our first night in the USA in Hawaii and now I have a 6 hour period to clear customs and check into Hawaiian Airlines for hte flight to Las Vegas. But I will live

1AM ??? Yikes! Only need to show up 30 - 45 minutes early....... there are appointment times for a reason.

Glad all is moving forward and you will have your visa soon. Too bad about the Hawaii plan... Even I would to make a stopover there.

There was no appointment time she was scheduled for the 10th of December so she in my opinion over reacted by arriving at 1 a.m. but there were people arriving not long after she did. . .

As for Hawaii my origional plan was to clear customs and immigration here rather than in Los Angeles and then spend the night and take s straight flight into Las Vegas. Now I will I have to change planes and check in again baggage on the same day. I did not expect Philippine Airlines to pull a stunt like this with an international flight. . . .

Now they reassigned us from row 8 of the aricraft to row 69 of the aircraft and that really pisses me off.

Her appointment was on the 10th but after that it was first come first served. After you got into the proper group for the type of interview you were scheduled for and checked in with the respective section then they called you in any order the Immigrant Visa Section choose to.

In short you could have been the last person to arrive but the first person to be interviewed. Or the first person to arrive and the last to be interviewed. My fiance was the first to show up for the day (1 am but was not interviewd until about 11 a.m.)

Hank, that was the week the Typhoon blew in and they cancelled appointments on the monday and told people to come in later that week. Maybe she was one of the Monday people. I remember that week because I filed DCF on the 11th.

When I made the appointment for her on line from the United States they said it was first come first served on appointment day. So my fiance was first in line for K-1 VISA to check in and get her number. After checking in she was told to watch for her number to be called as they do not call the numbers in numerical order.

In short they could call #3 then #9 then #1.

So you have to be alrert for your number to be called.

They like to change proceedures that is for sure. For exapmple after St. Lukes my fiances medical data was sent to Embassy by courrier service. But on Monday January 5 the US Embassy announced that all applicants would hand carrry there medical records to Embassy after which the sealed envelope would be screened for the slightest sign of "tampering" and if found your interview would be cancelled and you would be sent back to St Lukes to have the package insepcted and if necessary resealed after which you had to reschedule your appointment on line. . .
