sometimes being clueless is good!!

I have to go thru some of this same stuff at work . . . definitely the "in" ppl are the ones that get considered first . . . and even get the promotions/pay raises quicker. TG, I have a new manager and she's a bit more equitable in how she treats ppl.

Hopefully the new manager will be fair, here everyone is under the State Merit system. When the position gets an increase everyone will (thats under that title) also maybe shes just playing it cozy for awhile to learn everyone ha stay on the good side.

Well, that could be true!!!

I already made one mistake . . . I didn't barrage her with little gifts from all our work trips to Hong Kong . . . . it never occurred to me that it is "obligatory" to bring the manager gifts of curios, etc! Her desk is covered in them now. I guess I will have to find something uniquely Egyptian for her . . . because she has had to listen to my tales of Egypt for a few months now!

Also, I know ppl who bring back sheesha from Egypt all the time without a problem. I discovered a store down the street from where I live in Dallas that has walls of these things to purchase . . . if someone wants one, I might direct them to that store, hehe!! I always have too much stuff to bring back!!!

You'll see them in souks, particularly those in a medina. They seem to have the best selections.

Have a great trip! I wish I was going, too :cry:
