Finger Notice not received in a month

This calls for a desperate measure(s) somewhat.

My cousin applied for his citizenship after Christmas and he still hasn't received his fingerprint notice. He is scheduled to fly outside the country on Feb 2nd (due to family reasons) and he was pretty confident he'd have received a fingerprint notice by then.

By the looks of it, they are extremely short staffed or in holiday mode. He received his notice on the 7th and there's been no update as of today.

What option does he have as time's nearly running out (he only has 6-7 business days now!)?

Really? you can walk in without appointment? Maybe make an info pass or call the 1800 numbers to verify before you go down. If it is near your place, no harm trying it right?

He didn't wanna take a chance. Went to SF office yesterday and they gave him a letter that he could take to biometrics office in Oakland next Tuesday.

Good idea... I assume that the folks at the biometrics office need some sort of case number to tie to his prints... I know that the regular biometrics letter has a barcode that they scan or a number that they type in.

Yup. Hence, he didn't wanna take a chance by driving up to Biometrics office as he'd have probably been returned back w/o anything w/ a barcode.

Thx!

Hello.

What kind of letter did he acquired? I'd like to try it and take a chance in my field office (miami). It hasn't been long since I received my NOA but I have plans on travelling overseas in March for at least a month. I need to book a ticket by February or else I won't be able to come with my family. Thanks.

You will most definitely receive your fingerprint notice. You should go ahead and book your flights.

They gave him a generic letter showing the fingerprint centers (application support centers) in the area he could go to on Thursday, should he not receive anything by then.

He received his fingerprint letter yesterday and its bizarre that the USCIS case status still doesnt show it.
