RFE and tax info

We received an RFE on Dec. 22nd and were asked to send in all our tax info and employment info again. Why, I don't know because I sent everything they asked for.

So we requested our tax transcript in very early January and don't have it yet!!!! It says it should only take 2 weeks and it's been at least a month. Is this normal? I'm worried that this is going to take too much time.

Anyone else had this problem? Thanks! Just stressed and wanting to get this done!

That is not normal for a tax transcript. I ordered them on a tursday, and had them on the saturday of the same week. Called the IRS.

we had ordered the tax transcript and to be honest it took them almost two month to send them to use.

we got tired of waiting so we had them fax them to us and they did it right away. i would advise you to find someone with a fax machine and have the IRS fax you the tax transcript and it only takes half an hour.

I've noticed a lot of people getting RFE's for Tax information that was already sent, so I was wondering.... would it be of any use to send two copies of the financial documents instead of just one? would they lose all of them?

I wonder if there's anything that can be done proactively to avoid this kind of RFE's where they ask for things they already have

Why not just call them and have them fax your transcripts to you? That way you don't have to wait for them..........Just food for thought

We received and RFE for the same thing in November 2006 - all of the tax information and employer info.

We included the following items per their request:

Letter of Employment from my Employer

3 recent Paystubs through Dec 15, 2006

2005 Tax Returns – I am waiting for one more W-2 to file 2006 at the moment.

2004 Tax Returns

2003 Tax Returns

HOWEVER!!! We lost the original letter and could not get the right address to send the RFE info back - we called repeatedly and were told there was no way to get that address for us since they had no idea who requested the information. We were unable to send the information back until I managed to unpack all of the boxes in our house and found the letter again! ( yes - we moved right after we received the letter and it was packed in the last ROW of boxes left to unpack- figures LOL)

Anyway - we finally got the letter sent off - do we have a place to keep those addresses for future reference for other people??????

I just dialed the 8002211212 number and just went thru the automated menu until I heard something that said to speak with a live representative. I told him that I want to order transcripts then he asked me a few questions and the fax number i wanted it sent to. So try that and see if it works for you...
