Hi. In a prior message I wrote how my I-130 package feels very light. I would like to add a cover letter and a single photo of our wedding day. Is this okay? This is the first state, I-130 stage, of the K-3.

Naveed.

K-3 Visa

07/22/2006 - Applied for K1 - I-129F mailed to Vermont Service Center, VSC

08/02/2006 - Package got sent back requesting a different form (different revision). Proceeded to weep like a girl. Decided against fiance visa with newfound setback. Will wait for December wedding.

12/24/2006 - Marriage

02/05/2007 - I-130 sent to VSC and confirmed receipt following day.

02/13/2007 - I-130 NOA1 received

02/15/2007 - K-3 sent to Chicago and confirmed receipt following day.

02/26/2007 - K-3 NOA1

03/02/2007 - I-129F (K-3) sent to Vermont Service Center (from Missouri Service Center)

03/11/2007 - Received email notice: I-129F in VSC is now pending (whatever the heck that means)

04/05/2007 - I-130 and K-3 APPROVED! (email notice) (rec'd postal mail 04/13)

04/09/2007 - NVC received case (called 603 334 0700)

04/11/2007 - Shipped to Chennai.

05/17/2007 - Received confirmation of receiving package via postal mail in India with interview date! (took 36 days!)

06/15/2007 - Interview! VISA APPROVED!!

06/29/2007 - She's in my arms...

Hi there. Have you sent your petition yet? The newest instructions say that you need to include some documentation you didn't have to before, bascially to show that there is an ongoing martial union. If you live together, it's easy - just provide a copy of your mortgage or a copy of your tenancy agreement. If you have any joint accounts, a copy of proof of that can work. If you have nothing like that, you'll need sworn affidavits from friends and family.

You can download the latest instructions here -

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-130.pdf

and see the note on section 7.

Also, yes, I would include a one-page cover letter with the checklist of everything you're including.

Hello again. I see you posted this in AOS forum, but you're not at that stage yet. It would be better posted in the K3 forum. :)

Also, I was reading around, and some people noted that in the additional note on the instructions for section 7, it says "should" instead of "must", so it looks like it's best to do one of those four things but isn't necessarily required at your point in the process. And anyway, it seems like the worst that would happen is that you get an RFE (request for evidence) and send it then. So if you've already send your petition, don't worry. :)

Well great news. I did as you said and made the package from light to heavy, filled with supporting evidence docs. Even the wedding invitation. And I've received an NOA1 from them already. Now I'm just waiting for the K-3 NOA1. Thanks!! (this'll be my last post in the wrong forum).
