Got this reply from SLEC after emailing them regarding sputum results:

Mr. Jencks,

The MTB culture results of your fiancee are already available, she may come back on January 26, 2015 9AM for immunization and releasing of results. Kindly advise her to bring the official receipt, passport and letter of case number.

Thank you.

Yes, that looks like you are in the clear!

Could you share here later if SLEC gives her the sealed medical report to take to her USEM interview or if SLEC is the one to courier the report to the USEM? That would help others plan ahead who are TB negative after the 60 day culture.

Congrats!!

The USEM written guidance suggests completing medical at least a week before the USEM interview. For those that are traveling significant distances .... that is easier said than done.

My fiancée completed her re-medical 13jan and her interview was 14jan. Being that she had to complete DOT, SLEC was the one to take her sealed medical envelope over to the USEM. The USEM let us complete the interview even though the sealed medical report was still in transit to the USEM. No problem and I overheard others interviewing that were in the same situation.

We talked to SLEC and the USEM. Both confirmed her medical report arrived at the USEM on 14jan, the next morning after she completed medical.

Wow!,,,,that was cutting it close too. I took a bit of chance scheduling that soon but I'm hoping to have her here by 2nd or 3rd week of Feb. I'm so glad things are moving faster with the med results and I'm happy for you guys. Could you share how the interview went? Did you have to tell them that the results from SLEC were on their way, or were they there already? I'm guessing my fiance will be at slec for a long time that day waiting for the packet,

So I assume the interview went well?

The interview went fine. I was able to go with her.

There are 5 steps to get through within the USEM the day of the interview:

1) Fingerprint scanning

2) Pre-screening (this is where fiancée gives the CO the NBI, CENOMAR, and birth certificate) Also there are a few questions asked here, such as previous marriages and number of fiancé visits to the PI. Showed them my divorce decree.

3) Oath in choice of English, Tagalog or Visayan.

4) Interview with CO.

How many times has he visited you?

When and how did you meet?

Where in US does he live?

Has he been married before?

Do you have pictures together?

Do you have a chat log?

When is the wedding?

What US state will you marry in?

Is the wedding church or civil?

5) Releasing

We weren't asked for any income or financials. At the first step where they do fingerprinting, we were asked if we had her SLEC sealed medical report. We said no and that SLEC told us it was being delivered that morning. That was ok with the person behind the window. So we proceeded to the next step. What a relief the USEM didn't tell us to reschedule an interview for lack of medical report. Fiancée asked the interviewing CO if we were approved. The CO said everything looked good, but they need to see the medical report first before approval.

So now we wait. "Refused" status on the CEAC website, but that should update soon to better status, such as "Issued."

Nice going...good news all the way around. We'll have 2 days before the interview in case they dont give it to her day of interview. Did go to Cfo already? If so, how was that experience?

Thanks. Yes, she did CFO Cebu in April. We'll pick up her passport at mall if Asia then swing by CFO Manila with her CFO cerificate to get the sticker.

She did fine with that interview. They just look over the documents listed at the CFO website, do an interview and provide info. Easy day.

Nice going luckytwo. Congrats to you both. It's a tough wait but all we be worth it. Keep us posted as to how fast you get visa in hand. I pray and send good wishes to all the other couples here waiting to be together once and for all. (L)

So how did it go?

I'm just wondering because my parents were told to come by SLEC on the Feb 2nd and bring their documents as well. SLEC said they got the result on January 22nd but they couldn't say over the phone where it's negative or not. Assuming they passed. I'm trying to figure if I should go ahead and call USEM to setup the Interview date now. I'm trying to get them here by end of Feb.

Thanks!

It went great. She went in, got her immunizations, and they gave her a CD and some papers and off she went. CFO tomorrow then interview the following day. My only concern is they didn't give her the sealed results so apparently they'll send them over to the embassy. I just hope they arrive in time for her interview. As far as your parents, from everything I've read here, if you made it this far and they told you to come down with your documents, you're pretty much in the clear. I set up an interview prior to the medical to eliminate any more delays. My opinion is go ahead and book an interview date, maybe a least a few days after they go to slec. Worst comes to worst, you are allowed to reschedule twice without penalty (after initial appointment). Good luck with everything!

Good to know that she is almost done!

Yeah that's what I've read too.

They did have a scheduled interview prior to finding our that the need to go through the Sputum test. So does that counted as one cancellation?

You can schedule 2 more times without penalty. After that you have to wait 90 days and pay visa fee again
