I attached below the status codes I received for required documents. Most of them are pretty straightforward, but some of them I don't quite understand.

Petitioner Birth Certificate is marked "F". Meaning "The NVC did not request this form or document". Does this mean I am not required to take it to the interview? I'm particularly worried about this, because I don't think we will have the time to obtain the original birth certificate, or even a certified copy before my interview. We have a photocopy, will that be sufficient? What will happen if we don't have the original or certified copy? Could my visa be denied or postponed?

Can anybody point me to a complete list of everything I need for the Sydney interview? Or relate their own experiences?

Thank you.

Had my interview earlier this month. F means you don't need to take it as the NVC didn't want it - most likely because the USCIS had viewed it before them.

You don't (or at-least I didn't) need to send them anything in advance - just remember to take your passport with you.

Photocopy of the petitioner certificate document will be fine. They require your details and your original identification documentation.

They will not even ask for anything from the petitioner.

Everything is taken with you on the day of the interview now. The old way (the way I did it) was to send it in.

Thanks for the reply. So did you specifically not bring your petitioner's birth certificate?

I hope your interview went well.

I believe I had the birth cert with me, but they definitely didn't ask for it.

Interview went well thanks.

Thanks for all the replies, everyone. You saved my wife and I from a panic attack.

The consulate actually replied to my email today. They told me that they received the birth certificate from the NVC, and all I am required to bring to the interview is my passport, a photograph, my medical report, and a prepaid envelope.

If it hasn't been mentioned, I always put "URGENT:" as the very first word in the subject line of my emails to the consulate, and I always get an answer within 48 hours. I don't know if that's the norm or not, but it could be a neat tip to get faster answers.

Could I ask when you got case complete and when your interview is booked for?? im just asking as I got case closed last week and im trying to work out how long its taking here in Aus. Thank you

Sure. I'm not familiar with all of the lingo here, but I'm pretty sure my Case Complete was December 16th. That's when I got the notification that I was done with the NVC phase and in the queue for an interview. My interview is February 3rd, and we were notified what the interview date was on January 3rd. It all happened very suddenly. Once I got the case complete, I was worried it might not be until March or April, so it was definitely a nice surprise.

I hope it all goes well for you guys. :)

Can anyone tell me if I need to bring an updated Affidavit of Support to the interview? I haven't been asked to in any of my correspondence. I believe my mother-in-law's (our co-sponsor) most recent tax return was sent to either the NVC or USCIS.
