Hi everybody, so here is the thing...

My husband and I have the interview pretty soon, but we have only 1300 in our savings, we started with 7 thousand but we had to spend a lot in our apartment deposit (3 thousand), apartment furniture, and a lot of things like deposits for electricity bill.

So now what we have is 1300 in the savings, and in the checking there is always money coming in from his job and coming out cause we spend money, like 1300 a week in the checking coming in and out from his job

But the 7 thousand we had on the savings, was from a wire transfer that my father sent to me, from my home country, because I could not work here and to help us out also cause some of that money was from my own savings that I left there. Now, we wanted to show that we have some more money in our savings to the government, so I was thinking in ask my father to send more 2 thousand, not that we would use, just to save in our account for him and to show in the nex extract that we have 3300 which is a decent money for a new savings account, so the government see that we have some money saved up.

But I heard that some people pay americans to get married, the fact that I would ask my father to send money to us, to show that we have some more to the government, would it help us, or would it make the officer in the interview think that my father is paying my husband? LOL which is not the case, but I do not want to give that impression

So would be better ask my father to send that, tho show the officer me and my husband have some money saved up, or better show only our 1300 and not tell my father to send anything?

Thanks a lot I REALLY NEED ADVICE ON THIS

I think it is common for parents to help out their kids when they are starting out so this should not be a problem.

You will still need sufficient income or assets for the affidavit of support of course.

$1300 a week is too much spending for U two trying

to start life, unless U pay rent weekly, cut back on

the spending, budget a bit, supermarket, utilities one wk

save towards rent the other two wks and force yourselves

to save something the other free wk & splurge just a little, do

that until things get stable, also what U need is a co-sponsor a

friend or relative, not a big bank account.

Don't ask dad to send more money yet, U never know when U

will have an emergency....if he sends that show money its will

get spent

We do pay rent every week, so that's why we spend so much, my husband does not meet the poverty guidelines, but i just received my EAD so together we gonna be past it with income as soon as I get a job in his same company.

WE DO HAVE A SPONSOR WHO MAKES 40 TH A YEAR AND IS ALSO AN ARMY RANGER, all his docs have been submitted already with my AOS package, what I believe has been accepted, that's why we are in the interview stage.

So for conclusions, would be better my father send money or not?

Would I need to bring a tax return from the sponsor btw? I submitted the one from last year but this year I DON'T HAVE HIS THIS NEW YEAR, interview is feb 10, would be necessary to ask for his new TAX?

btw thanks everyone for the replies

Our rent is 1300 a month, but we have a young couple that split rent with us, they rent their own bed/bath, they are in a domestic relationship I believe

Will it hurt if we mention we share the rent? Cause my husbands income wouldn't be enough to pay it all by himself, so that is the truth and we were thinking in mention the roommates....We do not have docs proving they live with us or share the rent tho, we just get the money every month

The lease tho is in MY and my husband name, bills in his name only cause i didn't had ssn when we moved in.

No need to ask your father to wire the money if your husband meets the poverty level for the I-864. It could draw unnecessary attention. The purpose of the interview is about your relationship which includes comingling of funds/life activity and not about how big your bank account is.

I think it is common for parents to help out their kids when they are starting out so this should not be a problem.

Sorry I'm a bit confused why are you worried, your already at your interview stage, I feel if you had a problem with for i864 they would have sent you an RFE, I feel he can go ahead and send you the money he wants to send if that's for you to support yourself i don't see it having any problem on the interview. As for the co sponsor you should have his tax filing for the year 2013, the one for 2014 wont be ready yet as they just started receiving applications for last years tax, So just take he 2013 one.

I am worried cause I am a worrier as my husband says lol, I guess some people are just relaxed, I am the one stressed out all the time preparing everything that won't relax until I have everything perfectly placed and that come to documents as well, But I guess we have enough and I should try to relax at this point...

I was in law school for 2 years and maybe is the lawyer in me questioning all my paperwork to make sure is all set, also I did all the green card thing on my own without help so sometimes I just want to hear from other people to make sure our paperwork is good enough

But I guess it is, and it looks like the wired money is irrelevant, I could tell my father to send or not, wouldn't do a lot of difference probably.... If they ask why he sent I am simple going to show my father's tax return and explain that he makes a lot of money and is helping me out until I get a job cause my husband is not rich

Thanks everyone :)
