Is getting passport in Manila faster than provinces?

Title says it all. We're (God willing) very close to applying for a Passport. We're still waiting on SSS ID which we should be called about any day. I'm traveling to Manila in a few weeks and will fly my sweetheart to Manila to visit me while I am working. While we're there, would it be faster to apply at the DFA in Manila (like Megamall?) for a passport (for delivery in Manila) or faster to apply in Bacolod or Iloilo and wait for it to get sent there? I am expecting that very close to the time her passport will be ready, I'll already have my MNL Case # and will be ready to schedule medical + interview! NOA2 was approved 1/9. So, in theory, if Manila is faster, she flies to Manila, picks up her passport and then goes to a scheduled medical appointment.

Thoughts?

You need to sched her appointment in DFA in any place in philippines before she can proceed applying her passport..30 days is maximum processing for the passport.

Even with "expedited processing" (which comes with a higher application fee), it still took a few days for them to process my wife's passport. When she finished the application at DFA Megamall Branch, they gave her a claim slip that was stamped with the day when she could come back to pick it up. This was a couple years ago, it took a couple of days but under a week. Not sure if things are faster or slower now.

DFA Alabang is faster, Expedite takes 5 days, I came from Davao and it will take me 60 days to have my Passport in hand, that is why my husband decided that we should get it in Manila. It was delivered after 7 Days :). Make an appointment online and chose the DFA Alabang. GOOD LUCK :)

My wife is from Capiz--speaking from experience, do everything in Manila. Passports take a long time in the Visayas/Bacolod. Good luck on your journey!
